"How are you feeling now?" a voice pierced awaking Viana. Her heavy drowsy eyes take some time to adjust with the rays of the sun entering the room through the transperent window. She looks around but her vision isn't that clear yet. All she can feel is pain in her entire body.
"Where..Am I?" she finally speaks reaching out to the unknown voice.
"Hospital" he replies.
Viana who is having a tough time regaining her memories feels completely distressed on her being in a hospital bed. Thoughts are flooding her mind when something strikes her. "Lillian!! Where is my daughter?" she is frantic with worry, her heart pounding erratically, as she tries to figure out where her daughter could be.
"Calm down" the unknown man tries to calm her but she is out of control. She tries to get up on her feet but fails terribly. Her legs are weak and fragile as she falls to the ground wailing her daughter's name.
"Viana" the soft spoken man gently lifts her into his arms and helps her sit. "Breathe, Viana. Your daughter is safe," he whispers softly, his eyes filled with understanding and warmth as he cups her face in his hands, wiping away her tears. In her vulnerable state, she feels a fleeting sense of relief, but as soon as she realizes he isn't her husband, she pulls away, pushing the unfamiliar man aside.
"Who are you?" she grabs a knife from the side table and points at the man with fear and fury at the same time.
"I am Lucius...Lucius Thornhart" he skids back. "Drop the knife"
"NO!!" she slashes the knife through the air, directing a threatening gesture towards Lucius as if she intends to stab him. "Tell me who you are and why am I here!!!" she grits.
"I saved you and your daughter, Lillian a month ago from a car wreck near the Shadowvale valley..." he replies with tension dripping in his tone.
"One...One month" she repeats to herself looking bewildered. "I have been here for a month" she gasps and falls on her bed holding her head down. Lucius walks towards her and cautiously pulls the knife away from her hand. "Where is Kai??"
"We...We" he is falling short of words. Everything, every sentence is jumbled up in Lucius's mind.
"He is alive right??" she inquires with an anxious and alarming tone but after getting no reply from Lucius she feels lost. Dejected. Shattered.
"On the day of the accident, we only found you and your daughter in the car....I am sorry" he places his hand on hers to make her feel comfortable but it was of no use.
"We?" she asks again.
"Yeah" he grabs a chair from nearby and sits down right in front of her "me and my brother, Jasper..."
She seems confused but doesn't ask anything further. She just stares at Lucius with a million of questions going on in the back of her mind. He exudes undeniable charisma. The moment sunlight touches his lustrous brown hair, it seems to shimmer with an inner glow. His eyes, a mesmerizing shade of ocean blue, possess a gentle intensity that is both soothing and captivating. When he speaks, his voice resonates with patience and assurance, instilling confidence in those who listen. His hands, though strong and sturdy from having recently lifted Viana, cradle her with a comforting gentleness, conveying strength without causing any discomfort.
"Please stay here. I will call the doctors" he pats on Viana's shoulder and exits.
Viana who just woke up after an entire month was feeling like a newbie on this planet. She looks around to find a scene exactly like any hospital room. The hospital room is bathed in soft natural light filtering through sheer curtains. Pastel-colored walls and subtle artwork create a calming atmosphere. A comfortable bed with plush pillows overlooks a tranquil garden view. A vase of fresh flowers adds a touch of warmth, while soft instrumental music plays in the background, promoting relaxation and healing. Discreetly placed medical equipment and a cozy armchair complete the soothing ambiance.
She leans against the headboard, her mind consumed by the jarring shifts her life has taken. With a heavy sigh, her gaze fixes on a wall hanging depicting a armored man brandishing a sword. Every intricate detail of the image captivates her attention, from the flickering flames to the cold, detached head resting on the ground.
Suddenly, fragmented memories of that fateful day flood her mind, each flashback more unsettling than the last.
"Kai," she whispers, trying to ground herself. However, as she scans the room, she realizes it's far from ordinary. The paintings on the walls depict scenes of gruesome violence and brutality. The once-white curtains now appear stained and worn, the room permeating with a nauseating stench of decay. A chilling sensation creeps up her spine as she notices blood seeping from under the door. The wallpaper is shredded and torn, and sinister laughter seems to echo from the shadows, intensifying her growing sense of dread and fear.
She lets out a soft whimper, her head throbbing with pain, as the sound of the door creaking open catches her attention. Startled, she falls back onto the bed, her eyes widening in disbelief at the strange sight before her.
A group of masked individuals, dressed in unusual clothing that combines ceremonial robes with tattered garments, enter the room. Their faces hidden behind eerie masks, they begin chanting her name in a haunting, repetitive chorus that sends chills down her spine.
Feeling overwhelmed, she covers her ears in a desperate attempt to block out the unsettling sounds. However, her fear intensifies when she sees Kai, his face pale and eyes filled with sadness, enter the room. Blood stains his lips, and his voice trembles as he softly says, "Come home, Viana," his words adding to the mystery and unease of the situation.
