-Hilary POV-
School was, as expected, the same. Minus the bulling. so far at this school I am completely invisible. Every time I saw Declan I usually turned my heel and walked the other direction.
Right now I'm at the park sitting on the bench writing a 50 page essay about the book I'm currently reading for English.
I know who gives out an essay to a new student that just arrived but in all honesty my teacher Mr. MacGiby said I didn't have to do it but as the good girl I am I chose to do it anyway. As I said I want to sent a good impression.
I pull out my Apple MacBook Pro and begin typing. I pull out my City of Bones book and flick though the pages where I stuck random notes in to help me express the feels of the book. I also use my thesaurus, yes shocker I actually have a had copy of a thesaurus, to us more intriguing words to impress the teacher.
I look up and see two boys walking towards the park. Well one is behind the other, he look more buff then the other one, and the person in front look terrified, his hunch back makes the other guy tower over him. I look back at my laptop and continue.
"What do you think your doing?!" The buff one yells making the smaller one yelp and drop all his books. I take a closer look at the buff one and his face looks vaguely familiar. "Where's my paper, huh?" The small one, who also looks familiar, whispers something that neither the buff guy or I can hear. "Speak louder you little pussy." by now the buff guy has the other one in the air with his fist grabbing his collar. "Now tell me where my paper is!" He yells.
"I don't have it. I'm sorry, don't hurt me." This only rages the buff guy even more. He throws the guy in the ground like he is a piece of trash.
The little one raises his hand to block whatever the other one plans on doing.
"Do you want to be hit? Huh? Is that it? you just looking for trouble. Well now you have it." He raises his fist and that's my queue to ran up to him and stop him from doing anymore damage to the poor guy.
I'm ashamed I didn't do anything sooner.
"Fuck off, little girl." he shoves me off and I stumble to the ground landing on my butt. The buff one once again raises his fist but I quickly scramble to my feet and punch him straight in the jaw. His head jerks back and as he is distracted I grab the frightened kid on the floor and start sprinting away, graving my school stuff in the process.
I hear loud foot steps trailing behind me and that only pushed me to go faster. I let go of the guys arm and quickly grab his hand. I run in the direction of an ally that I know has a dead end but I know there is a little hole in the fence we will just be able to fit though. I run down the ally and I can feel the guy getting nervous.
We reach the end and I pull him though the tiny hole that we both manage to squeeze though. The buff guy won't be able to fit though that for sure. I continue running even though no one is following us anymore.
We reach my house and I pull us in. I readjust the strap on my shoulder holding all my school supplies. I drag him to the bathroom and retrieve a first-aid box now only realising he has a cut on his lip and near his eye.
The set him on the toilet and I grab anti-infection wipes. I have them hovering over his lip. I look in his grey eyes that are looking at me intently.
"This will hurt a bit." He nods slightly. I dab his wounds and he flinches back. "Sorry." I wipe them till there all clean. "There. How do you feel?" I take one last look at his cuts before staring back at his eyes.
"I'm fine." His, surprising, deep voice answers. "Thank you."
"It's okay. I know how you feel, you know being in that type of situation." Flash back of a familiar situation but only when it happened to me no one was there to help me.
