the tale of two (parable X Exemplum)

The Start

The starting pov of exemplum

Exemplum was swimming around, he usually would be relaxing but today he was patrolling the territory, he knew he wasn't supposed to go to the surface but he could sense things up there, and he wanted to explore, it's not like anything will kill him, he's strong. "I'll just make sure toxin isn't around.. That stupid asshole keeps ratting me out.." he mumbled to himself as he glanced around, even with bad vision he couldnt sense or smell toxin anywhere. He swam up to the surface of the water and began to go to sandy edge. he smiled when he finally walked out of the water and took in the fresh air." hmm.. Wonder what I could do out here.."

About a good bit away parable was looking on the ground for some food, until he noticed exemplum on the beach he got into a defencive position, he had his wings spread out as he slowly made his way closer to exemplum, a low raspy sound coming from him as he hasn't drank anything today. "get off this beach you sea creature!" he hissed as he slowly crept his way to him, the other was startled clearly as he had bad vision nd wouldn't have ever been able to see parable from afar. "why dont you go fly in a tree birdbrain!" exemplum yelled before walking forwards with his string like stingers now in a defencive stance. Parable glared to exemplum, 'does he think im stupid?' he thought to himself.

Exemplum saw parable walk forwards again bit more slowly, he didn't care, out of slight fear his stingers wrapped on any bone or feather and stung parable, which led for exemplum to back away slowly. Parable was now in pain and whining, exemplum may be the least deadly jellyfish in the world but it sure did still hurt. Exemplum felt a sense of guilt as he looked to the side, he saw a shell and gently picked it up with a stinger, slowly going over and chucking it to parable.

Parable, while in a lot of pain, saw the shell, then he used his wing to shakily nudge it closer to himself, sniffling as he picked the pretty shell up with his mouth and staring at exemplum, he was too in pain to say or do anything. He just wrapped his wings around himself and tried to ignore the pain. Exemplum was feeling guiltier by the second, he decided to think before using his stingers to drag parable half way into the water, hoping to calm the pain sinxe the water was cold. "stay in.. The water parable.." he mumbled to him, then let him go, moving further away as he grumbled.

Parable whimpered, the cold water however helped him feel a bit better, holding the shell in his mouth still as he lowered his wings into the water and glared at exemplum, too angry to talk to him right now as he huffed slightly, only muttering out a small 'thanks' to him.

Exemplum rolled his eyes as he grumbled, being away from parable as he glanced away, laying down on the sand as he looked up, he was a bit hungry but he was ignoring that, while he was thinking he was wondering if he should apologise for stinging him. "sorry for stinging you I guess.." his voice sounded like a growl but he was just annoyed right now.

Parable wasn't going to say anything anytime soon so he just nodded and took a sip of the water, he was thirsty and all, along with hungry. Sinxe exemplum noticed parables hunger he got up and walked away, however he came back with some nuts in his mouth, dropping them down and tapping his shoulder for his attention. Parable was a bit hesitant when he glanced over to see the nuts, but he did crack them open and eat them if they needed to be cracked open.

Exemplum just sighed and looked at parable, grumbling a bit. "I'm going to go ask lupus.. For food" he jumped into the water before swimming, he landed onto the bottom of the oceans floor before looking for lupus, lupus had freshly caught some fish for everyone. Lupus adores and worships exemplum so he always allowed him to eat first, when he saw him he beckoned him over in which he did, exemplum gave a soft smile to his good friend before he took a small fish. "come on exemplum, take the big one, you deserve it, I caught it myself for you." lupus said with a smile.
