Come On Lets Go and Play

Anna's Pov
I sit down on the stairs staring at the floor. It doesn't look so shiny here as it does in the main part of the castle. I am on the servant stairs heading up to the second floor. I like these stairs. There is a little cubby halfway up I can go into to hang out when I want to.

I pull my knees up to my chest putting my arms across my knees resting my chin on them. My brain keeps going back to the same image all day. A door, well actually a certain door. The one that is almost always locked. It's always locked to me anyways.

I want to go inside. There is a treasure in there I haven't seen in four years. My heart desperately wants to have my eyes see and hear it again. My brain dreams about it at night sometimes. Memories flowing through my head of what it used to be like before the door got locked.

Before all the doors got locked actually. The castle is always closed up. The curtains drawn on the windows, the gates closed, and no one coming or going anymore. I remember mama and papa used to have guests all the time. My sister and I used to sit outside the meeting room and play with our dolls that were made for us. The dolls that are laying next to me now on the step.

Footsteps come and feet stand on the step in front of me. The persons legs hitting mine. My eyes don't look up. They continue to look straight ahead not wanting to let the person know I'm upset. " Hey little sis," my ears hear from a familiar voice. I don't answer.

He sits next to me. " Hey little si-is," he says putting his arm around me as I move away. " Anna..." he says softly grabbing my hand that looks incredibly small compared to his.

I turn looking at Johnny glaring at him thinking he should know what is wrong. " What's bothering you?" He asks clamly.

I feel the calluses on his hands as I pull away. " Anna please. I'm sorry Elsa can't play. I wish she could. I've tried to talk to your father I've tried," he says proving he knew what was wrong.

I look at him getting a little angry.
" She doesn't want to! "
"Actually, she does."

" Then why doesn't she come out?!" I say getting angrier.
" Because her father won't let her," he says looking away a little avoiding my gaze.
" Why?!"
"I can't tell you Anna," he says and I look away angry with him and about the whole situation.
"I'm sorry hun."

"Why not?" I ask softer just wanting to know the truth for once.
" Because your father told me to," he says and pauses. " If I could I would, believe me. "

I shake my head and get up. It makes me mad not being told things. Just because I'm too little, or maybe because someone somewhere said I couldn't know.

"Anna?" He asks as I start to walk away. " Anna where are you going?"
" Away from you, " a tint of hurt in my voice showing. I don't want to be near anyone that won't tell me anything.

" Why?" He says sounding a little heartbroken as I keep walking down the hall to the kitchen. I feel him grab my arm gently and pull me in to him hugging me. I push him away mad at him as he keeps me close being bigger and stronger then me.

" No Anna listen to me."
"Why?!"
"Why? Because I am the only one that's been with you so far haven't I?" He says making me stop a little.

Then that stupid door popped in my head reminding me that I can't see my sister, returning the anger. " But you won't let me see her!" I practically yell at him frustrated.

He thinks for a minute holding onto my shoulders kneeling in front of me.
" How bout this. Today I will let you see her okay? " he asks completely shocking me. I stare at him with my mouth open a little speechless not expecting this to ever happen.

"I want you to see her. I really do. "
"I...I really can?" I ask not believing this could be happening and thinking I need to pinch myself or something.
"Yep," he says smiling one of his true smiles seeing my excitement.
" Can we go now?!"
" Sure sweetheart," he says as I take off stopping at the stairs to get my dolls then running to outside the door as Johnny runs after me. I drop my dolls a little bit away from the door by accident as he walks up behind me picking me up and then opening the door slowly. "Elsa?"
"Come in," the voice my hearts been wanting to hear for what seems like forever says softly.

I see Elsa looking out the window watching the town. " I have a visitor, please turn around Snowflake."
She turns away from the window and sees me. I see her eyes get wide.
"A..Anna," she stammers out.

Johnny looks at her reassuringly.
"That's right Elsa. It's okay," he says trying to use his voice that calms us down. I watch her start to back away what she can.
"Elsa it's alright. You don't have to be close."
I watch as she holds her hands behind her back. All I know is that I want to go to her. I try to get out of Johnny's arms. " Anna no easy. Easy, " he says to me softly setting me down on the ground gently.

I try to get to her again and he lets me go telling me to go slowly. Elsa tries to back away again as I go and hug her tightly around the waist. I feel how cold she is like always.

I hear Johnny kneel next to us saying," It's okay, I'm right here. "
I stay as close to Elsa as possible as she tries to pull away a little. " It's okay Elsa just calm down," Johnny says softly to her.

I look at Johnny and smile happy I'm with my sister again holding onto her as tight as I can. I feel Johnny rub Elsa's back like he does to me when I'm scared.

" Can we play?" I ask opening my eyes after closing them looking at Johnny. Elsa quickly looks at Johnny.
"It's okay Elsa, we can stay in here," he tells her. I run and grab my dolls outside the door as Elsa sits on her white bed with Johnny sitting next to her. " You did great Snowflake. No need to be scared Elsa. It's okay," I hear him whisper. " But I could..." Elsa starts being cut off by Johnny telling her not to let her fear consume her.
" But.." "No buts," he says as I jump on the bed next to him making Elsa jump.

Johnny tickles my sides making me giggle. I hand Elsa the doll that looks like her. Elsa and Johnny watch me as I tell the story of a little girl who was walking through town and saw a wolf and the wolf was scary. There was a reindeer that growled and huffed and the wolf ran away. The little girl turned to thank the reindeer but it was gone.

I see Johnny whisper to Elsa as I tell the story. I smile at Elsa. I make the doll walk on Elsa's leg making her stiffen. " The little girl wanted to find the reindeer so she went the way she thought he did into the scary forest!" I say and make my doll go down the path in my head which made her go back onto the bed. I feel Elsa relax.

Johnny rubs Elsa's back slowly telling her it's okay as she leans into him. I look at Johnny and smile seeing how Elsa is liking seeing me again. I climb over Johnny's leg. I touch Elsa's blue dress. I lay down on her lap and take Elsa's doll needing her for my story.

Elsa stays completely still as Johnny holds both her hands for a minute to keep her calm.
I add Elsa's doll into the story. The older girl is going to help my girl find the reindeer.

Johnny then rubs Elsa's back again gently humming our favorite lullaby making her grow sleepy. I look up from my story telling and see Elsa has fallen asleep. I keep telling the story yawning a little as Johnny keeps humming the lullaby making me sleepy. I finish my story quickly with the reindeer being with trolls as I close my eyes falling asleep in Elsa's lap.
