Chapter 2

"Okay class, here's the result of your prelims."

While waiting for me to be called, I saw Justice looking at me. I know na he also wanted to beat me, as if naman. Let's see. Now that I gave my 90%, he can't beat me. Never.

"Mr. Nuevo, your prelim grade is 97." I saw him smile. Just wait for it, Justice.

"Ms. Tuazon, 98. Congrats." napangiti ako. I looked at him and saw him with a slight smile. Ngini-ngiti nito? Nakakaasar ah. Whatever, basta mas mataas ako.

See that Justice? Pero I know mas magiging competitive pa siya. Knowing Justice, hindi magpapatalo yan.

Pag-uwi ko sa bahay, Kuya told me na dito magdidinner si Mom and Dad. They barely eat here because of their hospital duties kaya sulitin na namin. Kuya led the prayer before we start to eat.

"Skyler, I heard a lot of compliments about you at the hospital. That's good, anak." tinapik ni Daddy ang balikat ni kuya. Syempre magaling yang kuya ko no.

"Thanks, Dad. Speaking of, loaded nga po pala ako next week. Madaming surgeries, apat palang po kasi kaming anesth na available. Next month pa po kasi yung mga bago." Kuya said while serving the twins their favourite creamy shrimp and crab bisque. Nilagyan ko na din ng water yung baso nila while listening kay Dad and Kuya.

I saw the twins doing a small dance while sipping their mango shakes. Pinunasan ko yung bibig ni Claire tapos ginaya naman ni Blaire pero ako yung pinunasan niya bago siya mag-smile. Cute talaga.

"Sophia, I heard from Oliver's mom that you ranked first sa prelims niyo. Bakit hindi mo sinesend samin yung copy ng grades mo?" Mom asked. Oo nga pala.

"Sorry, Mom. I forgot po. I was about to send it to you but dad called me to eat. I'll send it after dinner nalang po." she nodded. "But my prelim average po is 98."

"Wow. That's great, anak. But make sure to rest din ha?" sabi ni Dad kaya tumango ako at ngumiti.

"Congrats, Ate!" the twins said in chorus  before giving me a thumbs up.

"You heard that girls? Kaya you should study well like your ate, okay? So that you will get high grades as well." si Mom naman, baka mamaya mapressure yung mga bata. I saw the twins nod at her.

"Just enjoy your school, girls. High grades or not, that's fine. As long as you're putting efforts on your studies, that's highly appreciated." the twins smiled at me. I just want to give them assurance.

In my case, sarili ko lang nagppressure sakin. My parents aren't pressuring me. Madami lang akong gustong patunayan sa sarili ko. Pero bukas I'll chill first since I don't have school tomorrow.

Naalimpungatan ako sa kalabog ng pinto at biglang may nag-dilat ng mata ko. Ang aga-aga nambubulabog tong dalawang to.

"Sophia, samahan mo ko sa Tagaytay please." Lucas said then hugged me. "Aray!" Sa sobrang pagkairita ko, I kicked him hard kaya he fell on the floor which made Oliver laugh so hard.
