My life was great in Tokyo, Japan, when I was a young but everything changed after the accident 5 years happened to my parents.
It was my eleventh birthday and my parents and I were on a trip to Okinawa. My mom looked back at me, held my hand for a few seconds and told me that we were almost there. Then a man in a huge, red truck that was being chased by a police car crashed into the right side of our car, between an intersection, and in a blink in an eye everything just bursted into flames. Everything I loved, or care about, in flames right in front of me. I fell on floor with bruises on my arms and legs, I was so scared and frightened, so I stood up rapping my arms around me shaking and started to yell for my mom and dad.
"MOM!!!DAD!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!"
I heard a groaning noise, so I tried to run towards it, and I see my mom on the ground with a car seat and a broken hood on top of her. I asked my mom if she was okay and if she knew where dad was. She told me that he died from the impact of the truck coming from the left side. I felt helplessness just looking at them, so I tried to help by lifting the car seat off first. I heard foot steps coming, and looked back to see the police officer that chased the man in the truck. He was running towards me and yelled, "GET OUT OF THERE!!! THERE'S AN OIL LEAK!!!"
I looked at the oil on the ground but I didn't care. My only priority was to get my parents out. I smelt a combustion and looked to my left, in the corner of my eye, a fire started about twenty feet away because of a flame that was close to where I was on the ground. I then quickly let go of the seat and just tried to grab my mom's right hand to pull her out, until the police officer grabbed me by my arm pits and pulled me away realizing the fire was going to hit my mom at any second. I was still holding her right arm crying while the officer was still pulling me. I yelled, while I was trying to resist his grip, "LET ME GO!!! I HAVE TO SAVE HER!!!"
Then the fire started to burn and melt the broken hood. My mom then lets go of my hand and whispered, "I love you, baby." The officer then pulled me back quickly. My mom, and everything around her, including my dad's corpse, burned to ash.
I yelled still crying, " NOOOO!!! WHY DID YOU DO THAT!? WE COULD HAVE SAVED HER!!!"
In sympathy, the officer said, in deep sorrow, "I'm sorry...but if I didn't save you, you would have burned too, and your mom probably wouldn't have wanted you to die."
After that, the office took me to the police station, and told me to sit down on a bench inside and wait. I waited for about fifteen minutes or so still crying and wiping my tears. Then the same officer asked me if I had any other family members that could be able to pick me up, or take care of me, in a sense. I told him I had no family members any more, most of my dad's side don't live here, and on my mom's side, there was only her sister, my Aunt Yukiko.
The officer looked at me weird and responded, "Oh, ok. I see...hmm...Oh, I haven't fully introduced myself. My name is Sosuke Shinto, what's yours?"
I wiped my eyes and replied, "Akio Kazumi"
"Akio, huh? I see," he said in interest.
"Yeah. My mom told me that it means 'bright, manly hero'," I said.
After introductions, Officer Shinto contacted my Aunt Yukiko, and told her what happened. He then told me that she would be coming soon.
Within an hour, my aunt arrived and brought along with her her daughter, my cousin, Miyoko. I call Yoko.
When I saw her and Yoko walkin the station, I started to tear up again and I ran towards my aunt and hugged her tightly. Yoko looked at me and rubbed my back with sympathy.
Aunt Yukiko rubbed my head, "Come on, Akio. Let's go home."
While we were walking out, Yoko grabbed my hand, "Everything is going to be alright."
I wiped my face from tears with my other arm.
