The whole palace was asleep. The king arrived at his son's bedroom with his word. As he entered he found his naïve 14 year old shedding tears as he was seated on the railing of the window looking out at the mid-night moon.

"Elias" the king called out his name as he kept his sword on the bed. This was because, the conditions of the kingdom wasn't some what right, and enemies could easily enter to attack the king. So he kept it to keep himself protected.

"Father. Why did you come here at this night, you could have called me I would have come instead. You should be taking rest" The little child said in concern, as he wiped  off his tears trying it from his father.

"Are you missing your mother?" The king who was nothing other than a father at this moment said.

"No, I was just...." He took a pause trying to find out a reason for hiding his reason.

"DON'T LIE TO ME SON. I am your father." The father said. "And it's ok for a child to cry, if your mother would be here, she would ask you get all your emotions out" He continued.

Hearing this, the 14 year old boy suddenly hugged his severely injured father.

"Father, I'm sorry, forgive me. I am not a good son, I am not a good person for this kingdom, I am sorry father, I let you down, I couldn't do anything. I am sorry I let you down again." He cried in his father's embrace.

His father gave a polite smile while stroking his son Elias's head.

"Son, whatever happened was not your fault. And don't you dare, don't you dare doubt my blood's leadership. You were born for this kingdom, you never let my head down, instead you have always made my head raise high. If your mother was here, she would have been proud of you. And so am I. I AM PROUD OF YOU MY SON."

Hearing this the young child's met his father's proud eyes and his light blue eyes shined bright at night, leaving the last tear rolling down his cheek.

"Then what about the other day? When I saw my mother for the last time and now you....." The child asked.

"What happened to your mother was an accident, and what happened to me has nothing to do with you." The father said slowly anger raging in eyes.

"But.. father.." Elias almost tried to spoke when his father interrupted.

"No more buts. If you want to be a great king, you have to face all these and mark my words, this is just a beginning. No one knows, if I will be there tomorrow."

"Please don't say...." Elias tried interrupting but got cut off again.

"You cannot be weak and blame everything on yourself. Learn to trust yourself Elias. What happened could happen again, but this is how a life of a king is, to sacrifice yourself for the kingdom. Remember child, a king is not the one who enjoys every luxury and rules. But king is the one who is the greatest servant of all, to sacrifice and fight for his kingdom and never give up. No matter what.

This statement of his father went straight into his soul getting attached to his mind, body and soul forever.

He has a lot to learn from his father.

"alright! it's already late night, go and sleep" His father said said walking out of his room. "And yeah, don't worry about me, I am fine" He said lastly and walked forgetting his sword.

"Thank-you father, I will never let you down" He whispered to himself as his father walked out. As Elias walked to his bed, he saw his sword laying there.
