The moment me and Julian had entered the big hall, everyone's eyes were turned to us as the music is blasted throughout the room. The couple is seen to be dancing and enjoying their time. A huge elongated table is spread on the corner of the hall where a few are seated. A woman who looks in her late 30s walks to us and kisses Julian, "Hello, my son. How are you? And who must this beautiful young woman be?"
Julian looks at me with a warm expression, "Mom, this is Amelia, she's my girlfriend. Amelia, this is my mother and also the wonder woman who has developed me into who I am today."
His smile is wide and so is his mother's.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Mrs Vincente." I shake her hand and give a wide smile.
She escorts us to the dining table and hands us each a glass of champagne. "Amy, would you like to dance with me." Julian presents his open hand in front of us. I stand as I finish the remaining portion of my champagne. "Yes, I'd love to, please lead me on."
"It'll be a pleasure." Julian smirks.
As we walk towards the dance floor, Julian's left hand rests on waist, while his right hand is on mine.  He pulls me closer to himself by grabbing my waist so that our faces re at an equal level. The eyes of everyone in the crowd were on us while our eyes just focused in each other. We stared at each other, like we were two birds in love, shaping and making love with our eyes. 'Beautiful Tonight' plays in the background and the surrounding lights are dimmed creating a more romantic scenery. Julian's parents, his sister and my ex-boyfriend, me and Julian, and my parents, all were dancing on the floor, swaying with each other, spinning, bringing each other close and holding each other until it was time for dinner.
We all sat at the table, Julian sat beside me, in front of me were my parents who met me later after the dance, and on the other side were the groom's cousins. A toast is made and the most exquisite dishes are brought on the table.
"So Amelia, what you've been doing lately." Julian's mother asks, as more champagne is poured into everyone glasses.
"I am currently working as a fashion designer for one of the top brands in trend today."
Their faces light up with a wide smile. I look at my parents who smile too with a sense of pride.
"How did you and Julian meet? Julian has told me a lot about you unfortunately he didn't mention how did the two of you meet?"
I smiled at Julian, looking at his father I replied, "Sir, me and Julian first met each other when we were in school, a few months ago, we were neighbors and bonding with each other as the days passed we wanted to take our friendship into a relationship since we couldn't get enough of ach other."
Julian gives me a slight squeeze to my open thigh which sends internal shocks to my body, providing me with goose bumps all over my skin. His hands brush over my thighs, almost making me feel like I'm going to break any second. He knows exactly how I am feeling, even if I don't look at him, I can make out the grin that is stuck on his face. To hide the redness of my cheeks, and the level of dopamine that activates inside me, I gulp down the glass of champagne and focus on the food that's on my plate.
The champagne is refilled and then into my system in minutes.
"Be careful, you'll be drunk by the time we reach our room." Julian whispers into my ear. The hormones reply for me, "As if you yourself, are too drunk babe, you've drank the same number of glasses as me." I'm proud of the reply I gave to Julian, as he looks at me like his lips are tired of smiling at me all day.
Throughout the entire dinner till dessert, Julian's left hand hasn't left my right thigh. In reply to that, my right leg snakes around his left leg since my right hand isn't free. His hand only leaves my thigh when both of us get up to walk back to our rooms.
"You're leaving so early? I thought we'd catch up while playing cards post-dinner." Jane says as we walk out of the dining room. "Jane, we would love to but we'd like to hit the hay now. It's too late" Julian replied. Clearly both are drunk enough. Once the two of us are in the elevator, we both slouch on the wall until our floor arrives. I took off my heels so that I could properly walk without anyone realizing that I'm drunk.
Julian slips the room key from his back pocket and opens the door. "You're really drunk than me, Amy."
And before I could say anything, I pass out.....right on the floor of the room.
