The two of them had already left the small hill. They had been there for a while, but the slightest bit of sunshine that shined through the thin clouds started to fade into a cloudy sky. A thick dark grey clouds started forming all around, it was about to start raining. Johnnie and Jake weren't ready for rain at all by their clothing choices. Johnnie looked at the sky with a long sigh, he then returned his eyes to Jake. "I really don't want to get wet right now", he chuckled and looked at the ground. The taller man spread his arms around feeling few drops of water on his palms. He thought for a moment before stopping Johnnie from walking. "Take this." Jake replied, Johnnie looked at him confusingly. Jake took off his hoodie with a zipper on it, he placed the hood on Johnnie's head. The smaller man was surprised and laughed slightly since the hood sat on front of his eyes and blinded him. Johnnie actually really didn't expect this act from Jake right now but yet he was grateful, he fixed the hood and put the hoodie on properly. "Thanks.." Johnnie muttered with a smile as he zipped the hoodie on, then looking up at Jake who stood still with only a cropped none sleeved shirt. "You sure you can survive like that?" Johnnie managed to ask, slightly feeling guilty. "Yeah, I don't like the rain and getting wet is the worst part, but it's whatever." Jake spoke up with honesty and yet with a giggle. The rain drops started to pour more each moment they were standing there. Johnnie was still slightly speechless he kept staring at Jake who's hair started to flatten down from the water. It was silent again between the two, their eyes just staring at each other and the water making shooting sounds in the background. Johnnie gulped nothing and nodded. "Should we continue?", Johnnie spoke his voice more quiet than usual and his head tilted. "Oh right, I think we should— before we get soaked." Jake said with a shrug and started walking toward the road that they had came from. Johnnie followed quickly behind Jake. He looked at his best friend who walked on front of him, he could see his shirt already starting to morph more into Jake's body due to the fact that it was soaking wet. Johnnie sighed before slightly catching up with him to walk beside him. The smaller man crossed his arms. His eyes traveled to the side glancing at Jake few times here and there before the taller man looked at Johnnie. "It's just a hoodie, don't worry about me THAT much", he spoke with a playful tone to his words. "Whatever." Johnnie replied matching Jake's tone as he shoved him on the shoulder slightly.
Their feets kept moving yet they walked so slowly, even the hill was still in sight if you just looked back. "Wanna run to the wooden bridge?" Johnnie suggested and Jake stopped in his tracks. "You wanna run? Damn Johnnie what has gotten to you?" He joked before nodding. "I'll win, watch me." The taller man said with a confident tone before running off on the road that the trees started to surround again. Johnnie watched his best friend leaving and quickly started running himself, knowing damn well he wouldn't win in any way. He needed to keep one hand on his hood so it wouldn't swing off, the water droplets hit his face as he ran. Jake was far away already and he glanced back to see Johnnie struggling to run towards him. "Come on Johnnie! You got this." Jake yelled with a teasing tone. "Oh is that the bridge I see?" He continued yelling while Johnnie was now actually catching up with him. Though Jake only gave Johnnie the slightest bit of hope before he continued his run. As expected Jake was the first one to set a foot on the bridge. Johnnie in the other hand saw him already on the bridge and his feets started to move slower. "Don't be so victorious." Johnnie managed to yell between his heavy breathing while Jake was spreading his arms out to the air. "That was awesome!" Jake exclaimed with a laugh while Johnnie finally stepped on the bridge himself. Still panting the emo looked up at his best friend. "I blame the weather." He muttered crossing his arms. "Of course you do", Jake rolled his eyes and acted like he knew that Johnnie was going to say that. "You don't know me that well that you would know what I think", Johnnie scoffed and Jake eyed him. "I bet you are thinking of me", Jake obviously was joking but Johnnie felt a jolt in his body. "What?" He said between a forced laugh. Jake was not wrong, that what scared Johnnie the most.

"I was just joking, don't be so dry", Jake answered jokingly annoyed. "Actually i'm pretty soaked right now you dumbass", Johnnie replied his index finger pointing towards the sky in a joking manner. The taller man nudged him slightly. "Bro look at me!" Jake said his arms spreading out to the sides once again. Johnnie gave him a quick look up and down before just realizing. Johnnie was almost dry compared to him. "Fair point." He shrugged. The rain was now heavier than ever. They both looked up seeing how dark the clouds had gotten, then they looked at each other. "Home." They said in sync.
