Kirby was chilling at home when he heard a knock on the window. He looked and saw his best human friend Y/N standing outside it.

Kirby opened his front door for her. "Hey, Y/N!" he said. "What's up?" Y/N showed him a letter.

You, young one, have been chosen to take on the test of courage, the letter read. Pass through the forest of fear, and show bravery. There will be a reward for when you pass.

"Wanna join me?" Y/N asked. "Really?" Kirby said. "Of course!" Y/N replied. "You're always there for me when I'm scared!"

"You bet!" Kirby said. "Let's go!" He and Y/N headed to the forest they were assigned to. Y/N cuddled her fuzzy pink puffball in her arms for comfort as they walked into the forest.

Y/N took a deep breath, a little hesitant to go in. The forest was dark and uninviting, but nonetheless, she pulled on a brave look as she walked in with Kirby, and they followed the path.

At first it seemed just fine. Kirby was good at keeping the mood up, although Y/N was a bit creeped out at the fact that something might jump out at them at any moment.

Sure enough, only a minute in, something rustled in the bushes. At first Y/N thought it was just an animal, but then she felt something touching her back, causing her to let out a squeak of fear.

"Are you okay, Y/N?" Kirby asked. "You're squeezing me awfully hard!" He had a huge concern for his friend.

Y/N put on a soft smile as she loosened her hold on Kirby's soft body. "Sorry...it's just...a little bit creepy in here..." Y/N whispered, feeling a shiver run down her spine. "and I think I felt something touch me."

"Probably someone trying to play a prank on you," Kirby said, smiling. "Don't worry about it so much." Y/N let out a sigh and held him a little closer, as she took a look around to find that they were both alone.

"Okay, I wish I could have your optimism," she whimpered. "You don't seem scared at all." Y/N felt a little envious of her friend, as they continued to follow the path.

"Of course I'm not scared," Kirby said. "But I've felt scared of lots of other things before." Y/N was unsurprised. Even the bravest of heroes like Kirby had something they feared.

"Example?" she asked.

"Well, when I first encountered scarfies," Kirby explained. "I thought they were friendly because they looked cute, but then it became really scary when they changed their faces and chased after me."

"Oh well, no one who meets a scarfy ends up liking it," Y/N said. "They look adorable, but they are very vicious." She remembered the day when she encountered one. It was so rude and aggressive that it exploded near her, rendering her unconscious for a week.

As the two besties continued their walk, Y/N often got startled and would scream, all because of the scares along the way. Kirby always laughed and remained calm. He calmed Y/N down, and she eventually felt foolish for screaming at the toys that used to scare her.

They had arrived at the forest edge, when Y/N spotted something black and fuzzy on Kirby's forehead. "Uh, Kirby?" she said. "I think you got a little something on..."

Kirby noticed a tiny spider was on his forehead and let out a shriek of terror. He leapt out of Y/N's arms and ran around, desperately trying to get rid of it.

"Ew, ew, ew! Get if off! Get it off!" Kirby cried. "Help me!" Now it was Y/N's turn to laugh. She lifted Kirby up and flicked the spider off his forehead.

"There," she said. "It's gone now." Kirby threw his arms around her torso in a big hug of relief.

"Thank you," he sighed. "I hate spiders." Y/N returned his hug, giggling.

Just then, they noticed a bucket full of candy hanging on a branch. In the candy, laid a note.

Congratulations, the note read. You have passed the test of courage, and showed just how brave you are. Here is a candy reward on our behalf.

Kirby and Y/N happily enjoyed their candy. "Now that we've passed," Y/N said. "How 'bout a celebratory sleepover at my house?"

"Yes please!" Kirby said with a big grin of excitement.

The two best friends spent the rest of the day together in Y/N's bedroom, chilling and relaxing together. That night, they cozied up in Y/N's bed. They shared snuggly soft hugs and slept the night away. It's what best friends did.
