A few months had gone by in which the pack had been dealing with everything that had happened and the slight change in dynamics.
Carlos was now fully courting Lando, who was enjoying every single second of it.
Max was finally accepting that Daniel was his Alpha. His mate. And most importantly, that he wasn't going to leave him.
Daniel had started to court him too. He and Carlos took Max and Lando out on double dates sometimes too.
Charles had easily fallen into the fact that Pierre was an alpha now. His alpha. And even though he always knew he and Pierre were soulmates, things between them were even more intense now.
Charles wanted nothing more than for Pierre to give him the mating bite, but Pierre wanted to wait.
Charles had scoffed when Pierre told him he wanted to court him first, telling him he'd already been doing that since they were beta and omega.
Pierre still snuck in some little gifts here and there. Took Charles out to have a hike, but always ended up with a picknick that Pierre had set up earlier in the day without Charles' knowledge.
If they'd been inseparable before, now they were even more so.
Things between Nico and Lewis were changing as well.
Lewis began to search out Nico more and more, joining him in on work outs, or just sitting together in the garden.
Lewis still had nightmares. They were the worst right after they got back home with alpha Pierre.
It wasn't a surprise really, after he'd pushed himself in between Charles and the rogue alpha.
It sometimes still made him tremble just thinking about it.
He hated feeling so weak, but everyone told him he was the opposite of weak. He tried to believe them.
Knowing Pierre before he was an alpha definitely helped, because he wasn't scared or weary of him at all. Not like he'd been about Daniel and Nico.
In fact, on nights when his nightmares were particularly bad, Charles would crawl into his bed with him and Pierre would join them.
One night, Pierre had been out with Daniel and Carlos and the pack alphas and Seb were out on a date night, Lewis had one of his worst nightmares.
He was whimpering and shaking, whatever Charles tried it didn't seem to help and Lewis wouldn't wake up.
In complete panic, Charles had ran into Nico's room, begging him to help Lewis.
Alarm bells ringing inside his head, Nico had stumbled out of bed and followed Charles into Lewis' room.
Sensing the beta's distress and obvious struggles made Nico feel a pang inside his chest.
He crouched down next to the bed gently stroking his fingers through Lewis' hair, trying to calm him down.
Lewis had whimpered, apparently catching a whiff of Nico's scent even in his sleep, and he'd reached out, trembling hand holding onto Nico's sleeping shirt.
Nico had looked over at Charles, who encouraged the alpha to get into the bed.
As soon as Nico had settled on the bed, Lewis had launched himself at him, burying his face into the crook of his neck, his nose pressed against his scent gland which made Nico gasp softly.
They never did this before. Lewis had always been cautious with scenting. Nico respected that.
But now, with Lewis clinging onto him, nose pressed against that sensitive part of his body, he felt himself starting to rumble quietly as he rubbed his face against Lewis'.
