As soon as Nico noticed that Toto was distracted by George, the rest of the pack not paying attention to him in the first place anymore anyway, Nico made his way out of the airport and into a cab as soon as possible.

He gave the driver the address and felt excitement bubble up inside him.

It had worked. He was going back to where he really belongs.

The closer they got, the more excited he got.

Until----

Until there was a hold up in the form of a van, parked sideways across the road.

Nico's heart dropped when he caught side of one of the men jumping out of the van.

They were at the edge of the forest that would lead him to the Räikkönen-Bottas-Vettel pack.

Maybe he could make it if he ran.

He quickly threw some money at the cab driver, already unlocking the lock by himself and getting out.

"Keep the change," he tells the driver, watching how more familiar men jumped out of the back of the van. "Whatever you do, don't look back."

With that, Nico pushed the door closed, signed to the driver to start going, then made his way to the beginning of the forest while keeping an eye on those men who were presumably his attackers.

He keeps on moving, watching how the familiar men moved on closer to him as well.

He was in trouble. No matter how you looked at it.

But he had a chance and he was gonna grab it.

He sprinted the last meter, then took a leap into the forest, shifting into his wolf form mid leap.

He didn't wait to take a glimpse to look behind him, knowing the men behind him were doing the exact same thing as him, he just started running at full speed.

He knew the way to the house like the back of his hand.

All his mind was set on was to get there. To be safe.

To get to Lewis.

And that was his biggest downfall.

He was too caught up in his thoughts about his reunion with Lewis that he didn't notice the danger up ahead until it literally leaped at him and headbutted him in the chest.

Of course Toto had put two of his pack already in hiding mode in the forest. It was all planned. Just like the men in the van.

He quickly recovered and growled.

There were only two of them. He could handle two.

He just had to be quick. Before the rest caught up with him.

So he attacked and gave it all he got.

He had as good as overpowered the two betas, though Nico had to admit that they were spicy, when he suddenly heard a 'whoosh' in the air and before he could even turn his head, he felt something sharp and pointy hit him in the side.

He growled again, ripping the arrow out with his teeth.

So there were still men who hadn't shifted. He should have known.
