Tsukiko [Vigilante Deku AU]

Chapter 4

*Izuku Age : 16 : Flashback*

"A vigilante? What's that?"
"Vigilante's are people who save people.. but they are illegal as they don't have a hero license. Which is a kinda sh[]t rule."
"Mind you launguage Dabi! He's just a kid."
I'd laugh seeing Hawks slap Dabi across the head and Dabi doing puppy eyes at him, "But it's true! Kid, you don't care if I swear do ya?"
"Huh- Oh! Nope, I don't care!"
Then, to make the point, Dabi jumped up and, after making a rude gesture at Hawks, grabbed me and took me onto the roof through a small skylight.

"So kid." He laid back on the roof watching the stars, "You're gonna need a disguise, ya know. What'cha want it to be?"
"Disguise?"
"Well, you can't walk around like that, can you. You're top of the missing list because of your age and the circumstances.."
"So.. I'd need to change my name? And how I look?"
"Yep. Well, technically, you would need two disguises if you did become a vigilante."
"Oh, right! Would you help me become one Dabi? Pleaseee!"
"Before I do, you need to get an everyday disguise. I'll get Toga and Hawks to help as well.. if they blab about you well- you don't wanna know what I'll do to them.." A grin spread across his face, and he sat up hearing the others coming onto the roof.
"Right guys, lex's get started helping out our little friend."

*Narrative POV, but still Izuku talking.. I'm not sure what POV it is, sry..*

Over a couple of weeks, they completely changed my life. They gave me a new name, Neo [meaning new to signify my change of life], they made me a fake birth certificate to I was able to get a day job. Dabi was able to get some hair dye and bleach, changing my hair to a white-ish grey colour, and some coloured contacts making my eyes a dark brown though some green showed through at times. Hawks when he wasn't working helped me fix up the apartment building and it was soon one of the most amazing places there was, we were even able to fix up rooms on lower floors for the others -Hawks had to stay in his apartment to avoid suspicion-.

*Izuku POV : Present*

"Izuku! You're gonna be late for your job!  Hurry the f[]ck up!"
"Damn Dabi.. shut the hell up. People will hear you." I trudged into the living area and checked my hair in the mirror.
'Need to get more hair dye.. some green is showing through..'
"Zuzu catch!" I span round to see a lunch bag flying towards me and a grinning Toga in the doorway. I caught it and smirked back.
"Ima head off now, I'll see you guys later. Bye!"
"Bye Zuzu!"
"Cya."

Grabbing up a cap, I left the apartment block and walked down the back alleys, pulling the hat on. After about 10 minutes, I approached my workplace. It was a simple cafe, open from 5:30am to 4pm.

[AN: yes I know that most of the story's on Vigilante Deku AU have him working in a cafe but I find it as a bit of a anthesis as for me cafes are innocent places and Izukus real job- well not so much. Any who back to story!]

I worked the earliest shift, 5:30am to 8am, no one else worked that early so I always came in at 5:00am to do the cleaning and set up. I had left late this morning and arrived at 5:25.
'Ah- sh[]t.'
I opened up the door and turned the sign around and went to the back room to change into my uniform: a white apron with the logo on it [a cat in teacup], black top and trousers, and my name badge. Hearing the door open, I made sure the cap covered the greenparts of my hair, and I went out to the front desk with the pastry tray.
"Morning Neo."
I placed down the pastry tray, "Good Morning ErasureHead. Just off duty?"
"Yes.."
"How did it go? The usual coffee, by the way?"
"Yes, please.. duty was bad. Tsukiko got away. Again." He slumped forwards on the counter, visibly exhausted. I filled up his coffee cup and handed it to him, smiling to myself. Last night had been a close call, and he had chased me for 2 hours, catching me in his scarf once and a cut just above my eyebrow from loosing balance on the rooftops, resulting in me coming home late to panicked Toga and a very loud and very rude Dabi.
"Got any leads on who he his yet? I saw that he was on the news yesterday evening. Wasn't it something about him saving a young girl from a fire?"
"No leads yet, unfortunately, other than that, he is a male, about 5'9, and is in the rough estimate of 20-25 years of age.. but for all we know, that could be wrong entirely.."
I nodded to him, and he went to take a seat on a table in the corner as customers started arriving.

*Aizawa/ErasureHead POV*

Neo seemed a bit off this morning. It wasn't put of the ordinary but he seemed overly tired today and he was wearing a cap indoors, but it might just be overwork and the cap might be a new part of the uniform as it was plain black.
"Hello, Sensei! I didn't know that this was your morning coffee place."
I looked up from my coffee and saw young Uraraka and Tsuyu walking over to me, smiling.
"Hello, why are you here so early?"
"Well our train arrived early and Tsu said that this was a nice little coffee shop that she came to after school sometimes so we decided to pay a visit to it as I've not seen it before."
"Ah. I see. Oh, hello again, Neo."
"Sorry to disturb your discussion, but would you ladies like some drinks or pastries?"
"Uhm.. I'll have a hot chocolate, please Mr. Neo, what would you like, Tsu?"
"I'll have the same, please *ribbit*."
"OK! I'll bring it over to you shortly."

Tsuyu looked after him, confused.
"What is it, Tsu?" Uraraka was gazing at her friend with a worried expression.
"Oh nothing, I've just never seen him here before!"
"That's as he works the early shift every day, only one who does it, and he gets the most pay for it aswell ad he works alone."
"Wow, Mr. Aizawa, you sure know a lot about him."
"I've been coming here for about 3 years, and every morning I'm first to arrive, so we get to chat a lot."
"Here's your drinks, have a nice day."
Neo was back again, and he handed the drinks to the girls in travel cups, "if you do come back, bring those cups as they are reusable, and you can get free pastry when you do."
"OK, thanks Mr. Neo! See you at school Mr. Aizawa!"

*Izuku POV*

I went back to the counter and sat down at it. Pulling towards my notebook I opened my phone and scrolled through the news to see if there was any reports on new Hero's and villains before coming across am article on Tsukiko. Opening it I saw a video article with the caption 'Tsukiko caught on camera.'
The video showed me [Tsukiko] sitting on a rooftop with some one beside me [Dabi but it was so dark you couldn't tell who it was, the only reason they new it was me was because of my white hair]. It was only about 20seconds long as I had turned around, alerted Dabi and jumped off the rooftop. I shivered slightly seeing how clear my face was in the video. I checked the time and saw it was 8:03am. ErasureHead was the only person left in the cafe at the time so I went out the back and changed out of my uniform and grabbed up my bag and went back out to the counter.
"Blossom will be here soon ErasureHead so I'll be heading off as I need to run some errands. See you tomorrow."
I took up my note book and stuffed it in my bag.
"See you tomorrow Neo.."
I waved merrily at him and left the cafe.

'Well sh[]t I think he caught on that I never wear a cap and I'm overly tired.'
I wandered down the road and came to a convenience store. Entering it I bought some more hair dye and contacts, along with some Soba, bread, honey and fruit as we was running low.
"That'll be ***yen please."
I handed it over and thanked the store clerk.

I passed by the newspaper stall and picked up one up. The title read 'House fire kills the last of the Midoriya family.'

AN: Sorry for the cliffhanger! I know there hasn't been ANY vigilante fights and such but there will be in the next couple updates! Also if you had any feedback on the story I would love to know to see what I can improve on!
