Well now, if you'd known that you'd be walking around a farmers market maybe you would have dressed a little more accordingly but it is far sweeter as a surprise.

The sun beams down on your bare shoulders, and the back of your neck through your braids. It's a hot day, but not nearly as sweltering as it could be. Although the cicadas buzzing away sure seem to be enjoying the heat.

The quiet hum about the small market draws the four of you in to weave among the other shoppers and booths. You see the strawberry stand right away, of course amid the white tarp tent roofs, a strawberry milk pink roof does stick out.

Making a beeline for it, you promptly begin pouring over the baskets of berries and their jars of jam.

"Pick out as much as you'd like, our treat baby." Hoseok says, over your shoulder.

"No," You deny at first, but he nods sternly. "Are you sure?"

"We wouldn't have offered it if we weren't sure." Yoongi chimes in, reaching around you to grab a jam jar.

"We have samples on a piece of bread if you'd like to try." The older man working the booth offers out a tray with tiny cups with small chunks of bread smothered in the delicious strawberry spread. "We harvest and process all of the berries from our family farm, and the only additives are sugar cane and natural fruit pectin."

Taking the small cups, Namjoon's hands them out to each of you. You've been eating this jam for years thanks to your mom so you know it's good, but you take the sample happily.

Yoongi, Namjoon and Hoseok hum with delight as they pop their own pieces into their mouths.

"Do I need to keep it in the freezer?" Yoongi asks, grabbing a second jar.

"Actually, this will keep in the pantry for up to a year as long as it is unopened."

"Well perfect, then, I'm going to get three jars for myself, then whatever these three want as well." Yoongi pulls yet another jar out.

The man smiles widely, and taps out the receipt for nine jars, and two baskets of strawberries.

"Thank you very much, we will be back next year for more." Hoseok says, flashing his bright grin, accepting the heavy bag of jars.

It's nice to hear that they will be back, even if it's only for the farmers market, at least you'll have a chance to see them again after they leave at the end of the summer.

"Is there anything else you'd like to look at while we are here?" Joon asks, motioning around the market.

"No, this is more than enough" You smile, hoisting your boxes of strawberries higher. "We should get back on the road anyhow. We still have like four hours to go."

"You're right, and we'll need to stop to eat somewhere at some point in there." Yoongi agrees.

Jars clink and clack as Hoseok weasels them into a space in the trunk, and pulls out some of the driving snack Yoongi had prepared before you left the house.

With just over two more hours before your stop for lunch, you are very grateful for the tasty treats and Yoongi's foresight.

Plenty of simple sweet potato pancakes, little bags of mixed fruit now complete with a few strawberries thrown in, and thermoses of sweet ginger tea.

"Yoongi would be the perfect house spouse." Joon jokes, munching away on his snacks.

"In another life, that probably would have been my dream." Yoongi answers slowly, paying more attention to checking his blindspots to merge, than the question.
