I woke before the sun rose and decided that I wanted to go on a run. So I put on some athletic wear and headed outside and ran around Hawthorne House. It felt great to run through the fresh air. Watching the sun rise before me. I felt at peace. That was until I heard my name being called by the one and only Grayson.

I headed back to the house and when I got there I was met with a very concerned Grayson.

   "Where the hell were you?"

   "Outside on a run. Why?"

"I came to check on you and you were gone. Don't do that to me," he said pushing my shoulder.

I agreed and went to my room to get dressed. All I could think about was the fact that Grayson was worried about me. It had been a while since that happened.

"Dahlia!" Emily called for me in the house.

We were playing hide and seek and there was no way I was giving up my hiding spot. She kept calling my name as she looked around. I crept further back in the wardrobe before I hit something or someone.

"Shh," a boys voice said. I immediately knew it was Grayson.

I nodded my head and we hid in the wardrobe together. As we moved further back I ended up tripping and twisting my ankle.

"Are you okay?" Grayson asked worriedly.

"My ankle hurts," I said wincing in pain as I hold my ankle.

Grayson picked me up bridal style and carried me out the wardrobe. As we come out we're faced with Emily.

"I found you two!" She says then noticed our position, "Grayson why are you carrying Dahlia she can walk."

"No Em, she can't she hurt her ankle. So we're done playing," Grayson said coldly.

I chuckle at the memory. Even at twelve Grayson was still cold. That memory always stuck out to me because afterward when I was sitting and resting my leg Emily came up and accused me of stealing Grayson.

Suddenly I hear my name being called and look up to see Avery.

"Hey Dahlia, I um just wanted some advice," Avery says nervously.

   "Of course, what's up?"

"How do you um, fit in? I guess, at country day?"

I giggle at her question because I had found myself at the same one before, "Just simply be you. Don't change for those pretentious bitches."

She chuckles and says thanks and walks off. I decide that it would be a good idea to go get something to eat.
