As Maylen switched classes the blonde girl from first block walked up to her.

"Hi!". The girl said with a back up of enthusiasm, causing Maylen to glare at her in confusion.

Maylen looked behind her, Not long after looking back at the blonde student. "Uh- hi...?".

"Im Rebekah Blare! Your Maylen...Right?". The girl stuck her hand out

Maylens face was almost unreadable with a hint of confusion as she raised her eyebrow.

"Erm, its just May.". Maylen said still finding it odd someones talking to her.

"Ah~ gotcha". Rebekah said soothingly.

The way she spoke was nice and smooth, but that didnt make Maylen and less confused that someone approached her so quickly.

"Well im also late-". Maylen said trailing off while walking away, leaving Rebekah there with her arm still out a bit puzzled.

"Well shes odd". Rebekah said to herself before walking off.

Later that day when Maylen was home her mom came up to her, "how was it?".

Maylen looked up confused. "How was what?-". she said with a raised eye brow.

"School.". Her mother replied bluntly

"Oh- it was....well its school, thats for sure.". Maylen said making her mother let out a suppressed laugh.

Maylen grabbed her phone and went to her room, closing the door behind her.

She rummaged through her clothing shelf opening the shelves a bit frantically, she then found a list and pulled it out.

The list was a folded piece of paper with names on it, most names had a red cross through them.

She grabbed a ball-point pen and wrote down the name 'Rebekah Blare'.

She heard footsteps and shoved the list back into the shelf.

Her mom opened the door. "Dinners ready May..".

"Okay!". Maylen replied, putting the pen back in a stationary holder.

Maylen slumped down the stairs, meeting her mother in the dining room with a sigh.

She pulled out one of the six chairs around the table and fell into it.

Maylen always wondered why there was six chairs due to it just being her and her mom left since her father had passed in a car crash when she was only 11.

Her mom placed the plates down at two of the seats, hers and the one Maylen was at.

Her mother slumped into the seat and started to eat, glancing at Maylen from time to time as Maylen just pushed her food around with a fork.

"Whats wrong, May?". Her mother asked with a slight undertone of worry.

Maylen looked up from her plate with a confused look on her face. ".....Oh- nothing. Nothings wrong, im just tired". she said as she realized what her mom was saying.

"...okay". her mom said not exactly believing what came out of Maylens mouth.

After they both finished eating in silence, Maylen went up to her room, and layed down on her phone, her feet lightly moving back and forth as she layed on her stomach.

Before she knew it she had fallen asleep due to it being decently late.
