I am now in my very bright lab surrounded by people. My coworkers and I are standing around a body. The body is on one of our medical exam tables. Right now, we are trying to find the identity of our victim.
“There is a little bit of skin still left on the phalanges. So, I am going to try and get a fingerprint before we clean the bones.
“Alright, can you walk us through what you are going to do?” Said my boss.
So, I am going to take the thumb and scan it on the fingerprint scanner to see if they are on any of our records.
While we were waiting, I had my assistant clean the bones so I could examine the body. “Based on how the pubic bone is shaped I am going to say that this body is female.” I told my boss.
“Thank you Dr. Reichs. It says here that our victim is a 15-year-old girl named Jessica Goodman who has been missing for less than a month.”, said my boss. Dr. Reichs are you alright you seem a little spooked?”
“Yeah, I am she just reminds me of my daughter Kerry who is also 15-years old.”
“Well right now I would like you to focus on how our victim died and after we find the killer I give you permission help interrogate the killer just this once.”
“Thank you, Dr., I would like that very much.”
“Alright Dr., based on the damage on the skull I would say that she was killed by blunt force trauma to the head, probably a bat or some other heavy object.”
“I will be right back I just have to go and brief Detective Jackson on your findings.”
“Dr. Pike, is it okay if I come with you?”
“Sure!”, he replied.
