I am now sitting at a wooden table with the detective and the suspect in a very bright closed off room.
“Do you know this girl?”, asked Detective Jackson.
“No, I do not know her.”, Renolds replied.
“Are you sure you don’t know her? Just look in her in the eyes, her big blue eyes that are full of life.”, Detective Jackson replied a little angrily.
“Okay fine I know her but, I didn’t do anything to her.”
“Okay then where were you September 8th of this year?”
“I was at home.”
“Reichs do you want say something?”, the detective asked.
“Yes, I would.”
I take the picture out of my pocket, it is a picture a crime scene and hand it to him.
“Who is that?”, asked Renolds.
“Oh, we know you know who it is. We know that on September 8th you took Jessica on a date in Nightingale Park to have a picnic, but unknown to her, you had a bat. You then took the bat and hit her head hard enough for the skull to break open. You can deny it, but I see your eyes you want to confess.“
“Okay fine I did it, I just wanted her gone, so I killed her.”
“Officer Roberts, you can come in now.”, said Detective Jackson.
“Jason Renolds you are under arrest for the murder of Jessica Goodman. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you?” asked Officer Roberts as he put the cuffs on Renolds.
“Thanks for the help.”, Detective Jackson said to me. “You're welcome.”, I replied.
