Chapter One
Breeppp. Breeeppp.
I awake with a start at the static electronic buzzing of the half functional digital alarm clock. It read 5:14. Almost 15 minutes late. Shit. I'll just have to skip the shower and I won't fall behind. On school days, my morning chores weren't too bad. I am the only minor on staff, so I am assigned lighter jobs in the morning. The staff had tried to give me mornings off years ago, but the past alpha refused, saying they would have to cut my wages. And there is no way the current alphas wouldn't agree. They are probably tempted to cut my wages now just to do it. And I couldn't afford to have my income reduced.
I threw off my ragged blue shirt that doubled as my nightgown and threw on my worn leggings and a brown long sleeve, my least holed socks and my ragged Nike sneakers. While I wasn't allowed access to any wages or to go shopping, I was given an occasional $30 and taken to the thrift store. Fully dressed, I walked quickly towards the kitchen. After being caught running at 9 years old to a cleaning shift, I learned my lesson. My hands were sore for weeks after my punishment. Kitchen spoons could be painful.
I made it to the industrial sized kitchen right as the clock on the wall read 5:30am. I nodded to the other staff, not bothering to chat. If any pack members caught them having any manner of friendly interaction with me, it could be horrible for them. When they tried to lessen my load, the head chief was demoted. When someone was too nice to me, they were fired. They cared too much about their jobs to speak out, and I did not blame them.
Breakfast was prepared relatively fast. There were no visitors in the pack house today, and the only full-time residents were the three alphas. Unless you count me as a resident, with my storage closet room on the far corner of the first floor, out of sight out of mind. The former alpha and luna had moved to a vacation home almost four years ago when the triplets took over the pack and got a hang of their duties. They visit on occasion and will probably be home tonight for the festivities the following day. The assortment of food for three people was extravagant for daily breakfast but I was used to it. Staff got to have a small breakfast of cereal, oatmeal or occasionally pancakes after serving breakfast. Then we typically speed clean, and I rush out the door to school.
I heard stirring in the dining room beyond the kitchen doors as my name was called. Well, sort of.
"Roach!" inwardly I groan. Xavier gave me the clever nickname when I was eight. They thought it was so clever that they told everyone to use it, including my coworkers. I turn and see the head chief wide eyed. "Ana is sick. I completely forgot. You're up." And those words were my nightmare. The normal waitress. Normally the only person who comes into contact with the alphas during meals. Sure, I have done the job a few times on and off, but I haven't since the former alpha and luna were here. And now it is just the three of them.
I nod. Accepting my fate. There is nothing else I can do. Arguing would be pointless and would get back to them anyways. I had hope. I had a little over one week left. As long as they didn't claim to hold interest on my debt, it would be paid off come the next pay period. And then I would, hopefully, be out of here. I can handle this. I grab the loaded cart and wheel it past the swinging doors, ignoring the itching under my skin.
As I walk in, the three men are already seated, staring intently. Well shit. I hurriedly grab the dishes and start to lay them on the table. "You're late." Dominic's voice booms across the table.
"I apologize. Ana is ill." I reply with my head down.
"And Ana is?" Xavier remarks.
"The waitress, dumbass." Colton laughs out.
"Oh right. Nice tits. Nice lay."
I balk at his words for just a moment before continuing my duty, putting the serving utensils in the dishes for them to choose their meal and portions. "I'm too exhausted from waiting so long" Xavier states, dragging out his words. I was two minutes late. Two whole minutes. "I'm going to need you to serve me." I cursed inwardly, taking a step forward.
With my head cast down still, I step forward. "What would you like, Alpha?"
"Those. Three." He points to the French toast directly in front of him. I hold in the sigh as I grab the tongs to serve him. As I step next to him to lean down towards the table, I feel something brush against my butt and jerk forward. "I'm just making sure you don't fall. You are awfully clumsy." He smirks, squeezing his hand around me. I close my eyes. Yes, I am clumsy when I'm pushed, shoved and groped. My bad.
"I am waiting." He speaks again, tightening his hold painfully. I quickly shovel three pieces of French toast on his plate and try to back away, but he stops me. "And a scoop of fruit." He nods to the bowl on the other side of him. Okay. I can do this. I take a step back to move around him, but he pushes me forward towards the table by my backside. "You don't need to go around." Understanding, I hold my breath as I reach across his lap towards the bowl. His other hand reaches towards my breast, holding the left one firmly. I squeal but don't flinch. He wants me to spill it. If I do, he can punish me. Send me to school without food. Add more cleaning to my load. Have the head chef whack me with the spoon. There are a million different punishments I receive regularly. It was nothing new, but I was trying my best to stay strong this week. I gently place the fruit on his plate and put the spoon back, pulling away. As I move back, his hand pinches toward my nipple.
I shudder, standing up straight. "Anything else, Alpha"
"Not right now." He says smirking. I look at his two brothers who were staring with matching smirks. Both with empty plates. Do not tell me... But my fears were relieved with Dominic moves to make his plate. Xavier grabs a cherry from his plate, throwing it into his mouth, staring right at me. "I just love popping cherries," he winks. I inwardly gagged. "How bout you guys?". His brothers chuckle darkly in response.
All three Alphas continued to eat until most of the food was gone. I was a little impressed by how much they ate. I was now waiting for them to leave so I could collect the dishes and leave for school. "Roach, come grab the plates" Dominic orders. I slowly walk to the table and begin moving the dishes onto the cart. "Here". Xavier was holding out the syrup, but as I reached out to grab it, he moved his hand down, dumping it onto the front of my shirt. He shrugs, "Oops." He says without remorse. I look down at the large stain. "Guess you have to go to school sticky."
I glance down, sighing outwardly this time. I put the last few dishes on to the cart, cast my head down and pushed the dishes into the kitchen. As soon as I enter, the kitchen staff move to clean the cart, the head chef dismissing me with a wave of his hand. I glance at the clock, realizing Alpha Xavier was right. I take one last glance down at my ruined brown shirt with the dark stain, grab my shopping bag filled with my school supplies and run to catch the bus.
