we first met in senior seminar. i finished all my classes so my schedule basically consisted of seminars and AP courses.

i sat at a desk by myself building a lego bonsai tree, kinda confused on where to place the different notches. suddenly a clean amber scent filled my nostrils, signifying someone was close to me.

i turned to my left to see the captain of our school's cheer team. her skin was dark, soft, and glowy. long red crimped tresses were in a half up-half down style, a bow rested on top of the ponytail. she sported her skimpy uniform.

majesty. her name was very fitting. she was one of those people who i didn't have an active crush on like 'when you come around i act like a groupie' but i've always thought she was pretty.

way out of my league though.

"i think this piece goes..." she softly took the lego out of my hand, "here."

it fit perfectly. i smiled while looking up, pushing the glasses up on my nose bridge, "thank you..."

"you're welcome. i have practice in an hour but i'm sooo bored. mind if i join you?" she asked politely; which took me by surprise.

majesty never gave me mean vibes per se but definitely not...kind? i don't know, she smells good though so she can sit.

i moved my backpack from the seat in front of me, "of course. as long as you keep putting the blocks in the right spots we're good." i told her as she sat down.

the redhead chuckled before taking a seat, turning her body towards my desk. we spent a few minutes holding casual conversation about legos and trees before she broke the ice.

"so...what's your name and when did you get to this school?"

i stifled a laugh, "i've been here since 9th grade. my name is brooklyn. i prefer bk though..." i looked down into the desk, avoiding the eye contact she was trying to make.

she furrowed her brows, "damn really? how come i haven't seen you before?"

i weakly smiled, "i stay out the way...i guess?"

"you don't get out much do you?" she looked at me through her long doll-like lashes. i always loved her lash sets. they suit her eyes very well.

"nah...my parents kinda strict. and i don't have a lot of friends. any for that matter..." i placed the flower on the branch. although my crush was talking to me, the nerd in me was still focused on piecing this project together.
