As Taehyung excused himself to go to the bathroom, Jiwon seized the opportunity to confront Jungkook about his past. Her words cut through the air like a knife, each syllable dripping with disdain and contempt.
"I know you," she began, her voice laced with accusation. "I heard about you – the infamous gay tattoo artist who was dating model Tae Woon. Am I right?"
Jungkook's demeanor shifted, his cocky facade faltering slightly as he met Jiwon's gaze. "Yes, I am," he replied, his voice tinged with bitterness. "Quite famous, right?" He chuckled bitterly, the mockery evident in his expression.
But Jiwon wasn't amused by Jungkook's arrogance. Her tone turned icy as she continued, her words dripping with scorn. "Famous? Infamous, more like. You turned a straight man into a gay man, and now your intention is to turn Taehyung into a gay man too? Such a disgusting man."
Jungkook's jaw clenched, his fists tightening with suppressed anger. He bristled at Jiwon's accusations, feeling the weight of her words like a punch to the gut. Yet, deep down, he couldn't deny the truth in her words – the truth that he had played a part in Tae Woon's journey of self-discovery, and now found himself drawn to Taehyung in ways he couldn't fully comprehend.
But as Jiwon's words echoed in his mind, Jungkook felt a swell of defiance rise within him. He refused to be judged by someone who knew nothing of his struggles, nothing of the complexities of his heart. And as he prepared to face Jiwon's accusations head-on, Jungkook vowed to defend himself and his feelings for Taehyung, no matter the cost.
"First of all, why does it concern you? Do you like him or what?" Jungkook shot back, his tone defensive. But when Jiwon admitted, "Yes, I like him," Jungkook felt a pang in his heart. His mind raced with conflicting thoughts – on one hand, he should be happy that his friend's crush reciprocated feelings, but on the other hand, he couldn't shake the feeling of possessiveness over Taehyung.
As Jungkook grappled with his emotions, a nagging question plagued his mind: Did I fall in love with Taehyung? The thought sent a shiver down his spine, and he quickly pushed it aside, refusing to entertain the possibility. He couldn't afford to ruin Taehyung's life – not when he was already facing so many challenges. And yet, despite his best efforts to suppress his feelings, Jungkook couldn't shake the growing sense of attachment he felt towards Taehyung.
As Taehyung returned to the table, Jungkook's internal turmoil reached a fever pitch. He watched as Jiwon smiled warmly at Taehyung, her affection for him evident in every gesture. In that moment, Jungkook couldn't deny the depth of Jiwon's feelings for Taehyung, and a pang of guilt washed over him.
"I shouldn't ruin their lives," Jungkook thought bitterly, his self-loathing threatening to consume him. "She was right. I am really disgusting. No wonder I got kicked out, got cheated on, and ruined my boyfriend's career. And now Taehyung's family kicked him out because of me, when he's already suffering enough."
The weight of his past mistakes bore down on Jungkook like a heavy burden, crushing him beneath its weight. How could he allow himself to fall in love again, when his love seemed to bring nothing but pain and misery to those around him? The thought filled him with a profound sense of despair, as he grappled with the guilt and shame that threatened to engulf him.
"How can I face my parents, knowing that I've become everything they never wanted me to be?" Jungkook mused, his heart heavy with regret. "Mom, you died because of me. Dad hates me too, from the very beginning. I've become a disgusting man who lusts after another man. How can I ever find redemption for my sins?"
As Jungkook gazed at Taehyung's radiant smile, a sense of determination welled up within him. Despite the darkness that threatened to consume him, Jungkook found a glimmer of hope in the warmth of Taehyung's presence.
"Mama, you died while giving birth to me," Jungkook whispered silently, his voice choked with emotion. "I am indeed a cursed child, but I refuse to let that define me any longer. This is the last time I'll allow myself to fall in love, but I won't let it end in despair. I will dedicate my entire life to giving Taehyung the happiness he deserves, even if it costs me my own."
With a newfound resolve burning in his heart, Jungkook vowed to make amends for his past mistakes and give Taehyung the life he had always deserved. He would strive to fulfill the dreams that had been shattered by his own hands, to make Taehyung's parents proud and bring joy to his life.
And as he watched Taehyung's smile light up the room, Jungkook knew that he would stop at nothing to protect that smile, to ensure that it remained a beacon of hope in the darkness that threatened to consume them both. For in Taehyung, Jungkook had found not only love, but redemption – a chance to rewrite the story of his life and create a future filled with hope and happiness.
