THE GARCIA SIBLINGS
In the grand mansion of the Garcia family, tensions rose as the heated argument between siblings Kenzi and Tamsin and their parents escalated. Their parents were insisting that they take over the family business, but the siblings had no interest in running it. Kenzi aspired to become a renowned painter, while Tamsin had dreams to become a super model someday, paths that their parents vehemently opposed.
Kenzi, her voice filled with frustration, expressed her desire to pursue her passion for painting. "Dad, Mom, I have no interest in running our Airlines and Shipping business. I am not into business. My heart lies in art, and I want to become a renowned painter in the world. "
Their father, Don Adriano, with a stern expression, countered, "Kenzi, you have a responsibility to continue our family legacy. The business has been thriving for generations, and it's your duty to carry on its success."
Tamsin, her voice laced with determination, added, "And what about me? I've worked hard to establish my career as a model. I've gained recognition and admiration in the modelling industry. I can't simply give up my dreams to run a business that doesn't align with my passions."
Their mother, Dona Amelia, with a mix of concern and disappointment, pleaded, "My children, we have built this business with blood, sweat, and tears. It's not just about financial success but also about the legacy we leave behind. We want you to carry on our name with pride."
Unable to hold back her tears, Dona Amelia's eyes welled up with tears due to the feeling of hopelessness and the apparent conflict between her husband and children. The siblings were taken aback by their mother's tears.
Kenzi felt a wave of sympathy for her mother. She couldn't bear to see her in tears. "Mom, Tamsin, and I understand the hardships you and Daddy have gone through to build our business and provide us with a better future." She paused before continuing, "That's why we are so grateful for all the sacrifices you've made for us."
Dona Amelia smiled through her tears, touched by her daughter's words. Don Adriano looked at their mother and daughter with a mixture of sadness and frustration. He was about to speak, but Tamsin spoke up.
"Okay, Dad, Mom. I accept your request to take over the company. But on one condition-I will try my best to run the business, but if I find that it's not aligned with me, I want the freedom to pursue my own path." Tamsin's voice carried a serious tone.
Kenzi's eyes widened at her sister's words. She couldn't believe that Tamsin was willing to sacrifice her own dreams just to fulfill their parents' wishes. Kenzi felt a sense of shame towards her sister.
As the eldest, she was supposed to shoulder the responsibility, but her sister boldly stepped up to do it. She looked at their parents, who wore expressions of surprise and happiness. "Thank you, my child. You can be sure that your mom and I will give you all the support you need. And as for your condition, I accept it," Don Adriano said gently to his daughter.
Tamsin smiled at her parents. She loved them dearly, so she would try to manage their company. She glanced at her sister Kenzi, seeing the many questions in her eyes, but she just nodded at her and turned her gaze back to their parents.
"Dad, Mom, it seems our discussion is over. I'll go to my room now," Kenzi bid them farewell and stood up to go to her room. She didn't wait for their response.
The couple looked at each other as they watched their daughter leave. They let her go, not knowing what was going through her mind.
Tamsin felt a sense of worry for her sister, so she also excused herself to follow her. "Dad, Mom, I'll go to my room as well. I still have things to do."
Their parents nodded, and Tamsin stood up to leave.
Tamsin knocked on Kenzi's door, but there was no response. She opened the door and realized it wasn't locked. Seeing that there was no one inside, she called her sister's name, but there was no answer. She left the room and heard a sound coming from their library. She knew it was Kenzi because only the siblings and their parents went there. Whenever her sister had a problem, she would always go there to paint.
Tamsin entered the library and saw her sister Kenzi quietly drawing. She approached her. "Kenz, are you okay?" she asked her sister.
Kenzi paused her work and set her brush aside, looking up at Tamsin. Tamsin looked at her sister intently, trying to read her emotions through her gaze. She noticed the concern in Kenzi's eyes.
Kenzi took a deep breath before speaking. "Tams, I appreciate the sacrifices you've made for our family. But I can't help but feel guilty. I'm the eldest, I should be the one shouldering that responsibility, but you've taken it upon yourself and set aside your own dreams and hard work for the sake of our family." Kenzi's voice was filled with emotion.
Tamsin smiled and held her sister's hand. "It's okay, Kenz. This is for all of us. Daddy and Mommy are right, there's no one else to continue their legacy but the two of us. And I know you, Dad, and Mom won't leave me behind. Right?"
Kenzi nodded with a smile and hugged her sister. She made a promise to herself to help her sister, not to let her bear all the hardship of running their business alone. She would not abandon her. So, at that moment, she decided to set her dreams aside and face the challenges and trials in their family. If her sister could make sacrifices, so could she. If her sister ever decided to back out and pursue her dreams, she would wholeheartedly allow her and take on the responsibility.
They hugged for several minutes before Kenzi, always the mischievous one, let go of the hug with a frown on her face, which Tamsin noticed. She couldn't help but wonder what her sister was up to, her curiosity piqued by Kenzi's sudden change of expression.
"What's wrong?" Tamsin asked her sister, concern evident in her voice.
"Sis, go take a shower. You stink," Kenzi teased, pretending to cover her nose.
Tamsin's eyes widened, knowing that her sister was starting to tease her again. She chose not to react to her comment. Before Kenzi could come up with another teasing remark, Tamsin turned her back on her and walked towards the library door. She opened the door, but before she left, she turned back, stuck her tongue out at her sister like a child, and then left. Kenzi was laughing hard at her sister's antics.
Tamsin walked away from the library with a smile on her face. She was happy every time she heard her sister's laughter. She loved her sister and was willing to make sacrifices for her. Even though she sometimes got annoyed by her sister's mischievousness, she couldn't bring herself to get mad at her.
