Chapter 3: Demise (Part 1)

It was another ordinary day morning in the Tower Heroes aniverse, and Jester was sleeping peacefully as ever in his new house. As you read in Chapter 2, his house burned down to ashes, but after gambling all his money, his life possessions, and his soul away multiple times, he managed to get enough money to buy a new house and continue his life. It was three in the morning, when Jester's ringtone rang across the room loudly and irritatingly. Jester, with a sigh of annoyance, opened his eyes slowly, looked at his phone and saw that Yasuke was calling him. He rolled his eyes with the little energy he had and picked up.
"Yasuke, it's three in the morning, what do you need?" Jester asked through gritted teeth.
“Jester, dude, I just got some letter from this mad lad who is threatening to kill everyone I know and ruin my life if I don't sacrifice Voca then myself to him" Yasuke answered with a tinge of Paranoia in his voice.
"Yasuke, are you sure you're okay? Like seriously, I'm worried about you, like what if you're Schizophrenic or something?"Jester joked with a grin.
"Jester, I am dead serious, seriously, you know what, just come over to my house."
“No”
"Yes, now."
“It's three in the morning."
"You live five minutes from me."
"Ugh, fine, but I swear if this is a joke.”
“Just hurry up,” Yasuke finished as he hung up.
Jester sighed, put down his phone and got out of bed. Slowly, he changed into his usual white and pink clothes and left the house. As Jester made his way to Yasuke’s, he considered, what if he's not actually kidding, what if he is actually dead serious. Before he could draw to a conclusion, he had already arrived at Yasuke's house. He rang his doorbell, and almost immediately, Yasuke opened the door, yanked him in, looked around, and closed the door.
“What took so long?” Yasuke asked, clearly annoyed, as he made his way to the office.
“Jeez, I don't know man, maybe the five minute walk?” Jester replied while tagging along.
As they walked to Yasuke's office, Jester looked around. He knew where everything was, yet every single time he came over to Yasuke's house, which was a lot as they were best friends and hung out a lot, he seemed to be amazed by all of his samurai figures, posters, and weapons. When they arrived at the office, Yasuke shut the door quietly, quickly went through all of his drawers and handed him an envelope. Swiftly, he read through it, and once he finished, he said “So you have to meet this guy at bleak barrens, an abandoned prison, and sacrifice yourself and Voice to him, just so he won't go on a rampage, which he'll most likely do?”
“Yeah…” Yasuke responded awkwardly.
“However, more importantly, Jester, what the hell do I do?”
“Yasuke, seriously, it's just junk mail, anyways, who is this MyStErIoUs writer?” Jester asked
“Uh, some dude called, um, Demise I think.”
Silence echoed off the walls.
“What?” He asked.
“It's Demise, I'm pretty sure,” Yasuke guessed
“Demise?” Jester repeated.
“Yeah, you know him or something?” Yasuke asked, intrigued.
“He's the most powerful being in the universe…” Jester started.
“Oh,” Yasuke replied.
“And my dad,” Jester continued.
“Oh,” Yasuke repeated.
“Do not do what he says,” Jester commanded fiercely, “He's in prison, he can't do anything to us as long as we're here and he is there.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, now, I'm going home to sleep, we have school in a few hours.”
Jester went home and fell asleep on his couch as he was waiting to go to school. As his alarm clock turned to six, his alarm, blaring Jevil's theme out loud, was chucked across the room. Slowly, Jester got up, adjusted his hat, and ran to the bus stop. When he got there, he saw Yasuke was there already.
“Yo, dude, what's up?” Jester said as he fistbumped him.
“A bit stressed, I hope you're correct, though, about Demise,” Yasuke answered quietly.
“No need to stress about it, I'm sure nothing will happen,” Jester comforted her.
Just as Jester finished, the bus arrived, everyone got in and when Jester saw Yasuke sitting with Spectre and talking happily, he smiled to himself, and sat in the back of the bus. As he sat down, he felt like something was up. Hell, he knew it, yet he couldn't tell what caused it. Silence. That was it. Something was terribly wrong, why was there silence? He glanced around and at the seat next to him, he saw some sort of black goo just sitting there next to him, doing nothing but staring deep into Jester’s soul. He looked at its eyes, yet all he could see inside was darkness. Dark, empty eyes. It was so strange, he felt like it was beckoning him to come closer. And closer. He didn't know what it was, yet he felt the urge to give in to it. He came closer, and closer, until… Suddenly, Soda Pop’s boombox started blaring music and Jester turned his attention to him. Music. Now that's normal. He quickly glanced back at the goo, but it was no longer there…
