CHAPTER 6
NOAH'S POV
Ever since I was a little boy there was thing that kept on happening to me where I would literally black out and wake up in a court room where the judge, the lawyers, the members of the jury and the witnesses were all different versions of me... to make it simple, picture a court room filled with hundreds of Noah Simpsons. There were a lot of versions of me, there was me in a suit, me in a church robe with a bible and a rosary, there was me in farmer's clothes with blood covered all over me, there was a conservative version of me who couldn't seem to shut up about conversion therapy and there also came years later, a version of me in make up and a wig and an iPhone always taking pictures of himself. There were some I couldn't even remember but one thing they had in common was judging the hell out of me. So after accidentally blacking out, I would find myself in the witness chair and they would judge my mistakes and not just any mistakes, the cringiest most horrible mistakes. Was this a medical condition? I don't know. Wouldn't it have been better if my family knew? Of course.
But did I tell them? No.
I knew that they would not only think that I'm insane. They would basically lock me away in an asylum in Paraguay. So, I kept insanely quiet, just like any other normal depressed teenager. But it had been a while since I saw these douchebags in a court room, which was good because at some point I thought I wasn't actually going crazy but here I was once again, sitting in a court room, my hands on a bible with no clue of how I got there.
"do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth?" the version of me who is a lawyer asked while holding the bible.
"do I have a choice?" I asked sarcastically because this wasn't the first time, I had gotten used to my mind playing tricks on me, but this, this right there was a whole new level of insanity.
"Mr. Simpson?" the judge who was also me yelled at me in objection.
"fine, fine." I said.
"I swear." I removed my hand from the bible and the lawyer backed down from the witness chair revealing the whole court room filled with a bunch of MEs who didn't look impressed at all.
"what am I being accused of today?" I asked totally not invested like a parent talking to his crying toddler knowing well that he won't get anything from the toddler.
My so-called defense attorney stood up and took a few steps in front and stood in the middle where everyone could see him, he looked like he wasn't going to defend me rather blame everything on me. I still positively wondered why he called himself my defense attorney, I mean he was also me right? Another version of me perhaps but his face was mine, our heights were the same and the same thing applied to everybody in that room. I would have loved to blame this on Marvel Studios, but before I could start watching the MCU, I was suffering from this condition.
Oh, so now it's a condition?
The defense attorney took out a remote and pointed it behind me, I heard horrified gasps coming from the crowd of witnesses.
"silence, silence in the court." The judge said while pounding his gavel and everyone went silent but you could still hear the murmurs. I turned my head to slowly to look at what they were all focusing on and to my shock it was a picture of me on top of Soul Harper, just moments before I blacked out and came here and it was projected on a big white wall behind me. The picture showed both me and Soul clearly which made me wonder who took it. was someone there secretly recording us? but that couldn't be possible cause again how could have these good-for-nothing jerks acquired the picture? But either way it looked weird and cringe, is that how we looked? At some point I had thought me landing on Soul Harper would look romantic but whatever it is that I was witnessing then, it wasn't romantic. I buried my face in my left hand in shame until no one was talking.
