CHAPTER 8
NOAH'S POV
Confused.
I wasn't even going to try to explain what was happening because I, myself was still confused. How on earth did I manage to black out in front of Soul Harper twice? And did he really administer mouth to mouth? My lips touched Soul Harper's lips? not that it was my biggest worry because Soul had seen me faint twice, either he thought I was a troubled kid or I was doing all of this for attention. I hope I said nothing while I blacked but judging by the look on his face, I was good to go. He had asked me about how much I remembered and I lied because I left out the part where I accidentally got hard cause who wanted to hear that?
"no, it's not okay." Soul blurted out while talking to someone on the phone while we were heading home, I still couldn't believe that I was in a limousine, I thought Sam, Aditi and I would rent one on prom if we had the cash but I didn't think I was going to be able to ride in one sooner and with a celebrity. The insides of the limousine were exquisite, the chairs were more comfortable than anything I'd ever sat on and the entirety of the car was black with a blue fluorescent light lighting up the edges, it was like we were in a moving night club. Soul and I hadn't exchanged a word because the moment we got in the car escaping the paparazzi, which felt insane by the way, I felt for a split second like a Hollywood movie star going hone after winning an Oscar. Soul's phone had rung and he picked it up and had been on it Since, he kept giving me little concerned looks and awkward smiles as probably a way to tell me that he was sorry but I really didn't mind because whoever he was talking to seemed really angry.
"Noah, did you say fourth or fifth street?" I jumped in surprise because I couldn't see who was asking, it was probably a radio which helped Soul communicate with the driver, since they're not sitting next to each other... Soul watched me jump in surprise and he slid his hands on his phone and laughed, our eyes meet and I could feel my face turn red.
"what?" I asked smiling awkwardly.
"nothing." He answered with a wink and got back on the phone, "yeah, I am still here..."
"it's the fifth street, the house with a huge tree in front of it." I answered.
"got it." Emblem said and I didn't hear of him again.
My mind trailed back to the fact that I was still having these blackouts, I had my first one when I was 5 years old but I really didn't mind because it all looked like a dream, until I started fainting and seeing versions of myself at the mall, at some point when I was sixteen, I believed I was going to go insane, I had managed to keep my fainting sessions from my parents until I blacked out while we were having lunch, they took me to a doctor, I did like a million tests but nothing, I was as healthy as a new born baby... I didn't mention where I went after blacking out because I knew they would immediately send me to a mental facility but Sam and Aditi knew and somehow that was enough for me. It had been months without blacking and I thought they were finally coming to an end until yeah...today. Why were they back? And why were they talking about Soul Harper?
"we're here." Emblem said as the limo stopped. I peeked through the window and there was my house, a beautiful two-story house which reminded me so much of Christmas, don't ask me why. My dad was an engineer before retiring and joining the local church committee, so he had designed our house back in the day before getting married to my mom. I was no house expert honestly, all I knew was that we had a porch big enough to have another living room built into it, a huge backyard with different kind of trees, a chef's kiss kitchen which had a big old fridge with pictures of me and my brother Steven on it, a fireplace, a library built with nothing but wood, a creepy basement, an attic where I would always hide and stare at the stars and seven bedrooms because my dad had always thought he was going to have a lot of kids which he obviously didn't.
