Friday is the favorite day of the week. Students like me would agree to this. Friday ends the hectic schedule of academic requirements and it is the beginning of stress-free leisure. I, myself, after submitting my literature project, rushed to the café with my friends' invitations. One of us needs to be consoled and so explains why I am standing at the cashier ordering milk teas for the group of people who warmed their seats for a long time already.

I drummed my fingers at the counter as I watched the staff prepare our orders. Noticing that he was about to put pearls into the milk tea cups, I rushed to stop him and instructed him not to. His scoop stopped at midair and he looked at me in contempt.

"Sorry.", I apologized.

He sighed. He returned the pearls to their plastic container and continued what he was doing.

This is my third time ordering. We have been staying at this café for almost three hours already. First, we ordered coffee ice creams, which is the café's specialty. Then, we proceeded to have some biscuits. And now, we settled for milk teas.

The cafe staff is not to be blamed for his indignant action. We have been causing him troubles. We are not a rowdy group but today seems to be an exception.

To entertain myself as I waited for our order, I looked at the different cakes displayed near the cashier. Finding something, I looked at the staff whose annoyed face can't be hidden. "I'm sorry but can you add another slice of this chocolate cake for take-out", I asked.

He didn't respond but he keyed my order in the POS. "I can pack it now but it looks like you're not leaving soon. You can get it later if you leave. I can put it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh."

"Okay. Thanks", I sincerely expressed my gratitude for his quality service despite his annoyance.

He put the milk teas on a tray and handed them to me.

"Hey. I'm sorry for troubling you but one of our friends is having a hard time. I hope we can compensate you by becoming regulars here", I apologetically said.

My friends and I came to the café to comfort one of our friends but I didn't expect things to turn out to be a mess. First, Beth, with full make up on, loudly bawled her eyes out as she complained about her childhood friend leaving her for another group. Tears ran down her cheeks and so was her eyeliner, painting her face with dark lines making her look like a creepy clown. As the café is popular, many customers witnessed such crying scene. It should have been okay if that's the only thing that happened but once a disaster occurs, another one follows. Keith rocked his chair back and forth as he listened to Beth's story and ended up breaking it. Then, Trisha wasn't paying attention at her melting ice cream, letting it drip unto the magazine she sprawled open on the table. The magazine is the café's and was displayed on a shelf for the customers' entertainment. Lastly, Tracy, who is greatly affected by Len Len's betrayal, cursed loudly as she expressed her anger making some customers uncomfortable.

"As long as you pay for the chair", the staff said with a frown.

I chuckled and promised him I will not forget to remind the culprit to hand in his payment before leaving.

I walked back to our table and distributed the milk teas to their rightful owners.

Beth grabbed hers and took a sip as she fixed her hair and makeup. It seems that the crying is already over.

Beth is a pretty lady. She thinks filling her face with make-up enhances her beauty but for me her bare face is still prettier.

I elbowed Keith who was seated on my left. "Don't forget to pay for the chair you broke", I reminded.
