It's not something that can easily be put into words. It was like sleeping, except she wasn't dreaming. She was unconscious. It was so peaceful and calm. She thought no thoughts and she didn't worry about anything. Everything almost melted away. Was this how dying felt like? If so, she didn't mind. It was nice...

Her eyes shot open, and she looked at Caine, Ragatha, Pomni, and Jax. They were looking over her and she realized that she was lying on the ground. She sat up and looked around. She was lying on the hallway. She noticed Zooble, Bubble, and Kinger looking at the scene not that far away. She then came back to her senses.

Her suicide attempt didn't work.

Ragatha was wiping their tears. Caine had a neutral expression, as if his code didn't understand the situation. Pomni looked terribly anxious, as if she witnessed a murder. She probably saw how Gangle tried to murder herself...

She looked at Zooble, Kinger, and Bubble. Zooble was covering her non-existent mouth, her eyes wide open. Even Kinger looked solemn. For someone so prone to disassociating, it kinda caught her by surprise that Kinger looked like he knew what was going on.

She looked at Bubble. Bubble still had that smile plastered on it. Neither Caine nor Bubble understood what happened.

"Don't worry Gangle." Caine cheerfully exclaimed. "I fixed you right up with my cane. Now you're back to being brand new!"

"Yeah," Bubble innocently commented. "I helped him with all the love I'm legally allowed to give."

Their responses were awfully tone-deaf. Everyone was looing at Gangle as if she was on display. It was like they were looking at a car crash. A crime scene...

She was the crime scene.

She looked down at her body. Her ribs were all fixed up. It was like she never tried to...
