After Divination was finally over, everyone went off to their next class which happened to be Care of Magical Creatures with Hagrid as their new professor.
Bella was possibly more excited then her friends, as she loved all animals whether they were muggle or magical. She couldn't wait to see what animal they would working with today.
"That's it, come on now. Come closer. Less talking, if you don't mind. I got a real treat for you today. A great lesson. So follow me" Hagrid then walked off, and the students began to follow after him.
Bella happily jumped onto her brother's back, nearly making him fall face first. The Potter boy just chuckled to himself, and held onto her as they walked towards a large field.
"What do you suppose the creature is? Maybe a mooncalf, oh, maybe it'll be a graphorn. Oh, oh maybe kneazles" The female Black chirped, her face showing just how excited she was and her friends couldn't help but smile fondly at her. Her happiness had always been contagious.
"Uh, Belle, maybe lessen your hold around my neck. In order to live, I kinda need to breath" Harry wheezed, and Bella loosened her hold not noticing that in her excitement she has wrapped her arms a little too tight around his neck.
"Sorry, Harry" She giggled, kissing the back of his head.
"Right you lot. Less Chattering, and form a group over there. And open your books to page forty-nine" Hagrid order them, the students moving over where there was a pile of large rocks. Bella hopped off Harry's back, and slid her fingers over the spine of her book which calmed it down instantly.
"How the bloody hell do we do that?" Draco muttered, sneering at the book that seemed to growl at him.
"You stroke the spine, Dray" Bella answered, though unfortunately Neville didn't get the memo and ended up unbuckling the belt, the book instantly attacking him.
The Slytherin group looked over to the Longbottom wizard, and they slightly snickered at the sight of his ruined uniform and dishevelled hair.
"You're supposed to stroke it, Nev" Harry chuckled, as Bella went over to Neville and with a flick of her wand his uniform was now fixed.
"Thanks, Bella" Longbottom smiled sheepishly, making the girl giggle and gave a quick hug before moving back to stand between Harry and Theo.
Soon they heard Hagrid clear his throat, before he stepped away to show them something.
"Isn't he beautiful?" The half-giant stated. Bella gasped at the sight of the stunning creature, and she instantly stepped forward to get a closer look.
"Say hello to Buckbeak"
"Hagrid, exactly what is that?" Ron questioned, looking at the creature in fear.
"That, Ron, is a hippogriff. First thing you want to know is they're very proud creatures. Very easily offended. You do not want to insult a hippogriff. It may be the last thing you ever do" Hagrid explained.
"Sounds like half the house of Slytherin" Bella laughed, earning laughs from her fellow house mates.
"Now, who'd like to come and say hello?" The giant asked, causing practically the whole class to step back minus Harry and Bella.
"Well done, Harry, Bella. Well done" While Bella was basically buzzing with excitement, Harry was more on the nervous side. The female Black grabbed hold of her brother's arm, and lead them a bot closer to the creature.
"Now you have to let him make the first move. It's only polite. So, step up and give him a nice bow" Hagrid instructed.
"Make sure you maintain eye contact, Harry" Bella whispered to her brother, as the two bowed and made sure to stare into the yellow eyes of the hippogriff.
