-Jamie's POV-
Today is June seventh. I was eavesdropping on Dad and Tina. They were talking about the vampire princess's sixteenth birthday parade today. They said her name is Abigail. For whatever reason, my stomach got butterflies at the mention of that name. They feared that this thing called "the Lightning Prophecy" might involve me and that Abigail girl. I like that name, Abigail. It always game my stomach butterflies when I read and saw the name. I have no clue what it is, that prophecy thing. All I know is that we werewolves hate vampires for some ancient reason.
Of course, this only stirred me into rebelling against their wishes. I don't even like Tina, anyway. After dinner, I am going on an adventure. I have no idea where the Land of the Vampires is, but I don't care. I hope Jen and Jake won't tell Tina or Dad that I'm gone. They'll probably just inquire about my presence. I'm surprised that those two like me when I openly dislike their mother. Maybe they dislike their mother, too. Huh. I'll have to ask sometime.
I grab a duffle bag, a few pairs of jeans, a few t-shirts, a pair of fancy clothes, some chips, candy, three water bottles, sweets, a few sandwiches, a notebook, and my favorite pen. At five o'clock, my half-sister, Jen, knocked on my door to signal dinner time.
For dinner, we had steak, rolls, fruits, and vegetables. Unlike human belief, we eat quite normally. We don't eat a whole cow by ourselves. We sat in a comfortable silence, but I could feel the tension between Tina and me. "So, Jameson," my father turned to me, "I have an idea. How about you and Tina-"
"I don't like the idea of going anywhere with a slutty bitch," I stated simply.
"Jameson! That is not how you treat your stepmother!"
"Father dear," I asked in a mock offended way, "does it look like I care? I mean look at her. She can't dress herself to save her life. No wonder her mate left her."
"Jameson Henry Kaine, you will either apologize or excuse yourself from the table."
"I thought you'd never ask. Later, pops! Peace out, Jen and Jake! Oh, and Tina, keep your legs closed," I winked at her and walked off. I pissed Tina off. Yay. Okay, that may have been a little harsh, but at least I have an out to leave earlier.
I grabbed my duffle bag and walked to my window. Opening it, I climbed out and used the tree as a pillow. I shut my window. Hopefully, the guards should be in between shifts, if I'm remembering correctly. It is, so I climbed down and ran off.
I realized too late that I'd brought everything I might not ever need, yet I forgot my compass. It's the only thing I needed to bring, and I didn't bring it. Ah, well, I don't think the Land of the Vampires is too far away.
Right now, I'm walking through a dark forest. If I had paid attention in class and remembered correctly, this must mean that I'm going to be entering the Land of the Vampires soon. Absolutely ecstatic, I ran through the forest, not needing to stop until the forest ended. The Land of the Vampires looks olden, like a fairy tale with castles, lords, and damsels in distress.
I'm in awe with the beauty I'm seeing. My land looks so modern and high-tech, but this land is so picturesque, like a landscape picture I see in books. It's like this land isn't even real.
I'm walking, and I can hardly ignore all of the death glares I'm recieving. It's because I'm a were, but I don't even give a crap. They can suck it.
I hear what sounds like a medival trumpet. A short man, who is obviously a noble, announced that the parade would begin. There's a parade? I wonder to myself. I follow the crowd of vampires, and the parade begins.
-Abigail's POV-
My dress is blue with red rubies, clear crystals, and black diamonds. My dress is a ball gown, and the gems are in the order black, red, and clear. The gems wrap around my body and spiral downwards. There aren't any laces. I hate laces. I have to wear these white high heels, even though I hate heels with a passion.
My blonde hair is down and parted in the middle, with a platinum tiara with green emeralds on top. My eyelids are light pink, and I'm wearing mascara. My eyes are baby blue, and I despise that. They made me wear light pink lipstick.
"Felix!" I whine to my short and stout assistant. "Why can't I wear a tank top and shorts? Don't you love me?"
Felix sighed and rolled his eyes. "Yes, Abby, I love you, but your parents insist that you wear a ball gown. It won't kill you, I promise."
"The dress has its own gravitational pull."
"Stop whining, Abby! It's not ladylike at all."
"Felix, you know I'm not ladylike at all."
"I know, Abigail. The parade starts in five minutes. Smile, wave, behave, and don't roll your eyes. The people adore you. Have fun!" Felix smiled and winked at me. I sighed and stood up, walking towards my float. It was all blue since my favorite color is blue. There was a red and golden throne where I was going to sit and wave. I have my smile and wave perfected.
After five minutes, the parade began. I was overwhelmed with the amount of screams and cheering I heard for me. "Princess Abby!" the screamed. "We love you!" I blew air kisses to everyone, and they went even more wild. I examined the crowd, and I saw a boy.
His hair was dark brown, swooping to the right, I think. He just stood there, wide eyed in shock. Viktoria, my vampire, screamed, "Mine!" and my float passed him. I turned around, then I realized that I had to keep facing front. I smiled, waved, and blew kisses.
"Princess Abby! We love you!"
