Hamza's POV:
"Asalamwalaykum, Hajira," I said catching up to her after Isha (the night prayer).
"Walaykumasalam, Bhaiya, What's up?" Hajira asked me.
"You know the girl that I lost my temper with earlier?"
"Yeah..." she said slowly.
"Do you mind telling her that I am sorry for that? It wouldn't be appropriate for me to speak alone with her," I explained.
"Yeah of course, In fact I already told her Alhamdulillah," Hajira said.
"Alhamdulillah, Jazakallahukhairan," I said crushing her in a hug.
"I CAN'T BREATH" She said struggling to push me away.
I laughed, letting go of her.
"I'd slap your face if you weren't so tall, but sadly you're I can't reach," She whined.
I smiled, but I seriously said, "Thanks Hajira, I don't know what I'd do without you"
"You wouldn't be here," Hajira responded.
"I have to go Bhaiya... I'm rooming with Fawzia... are you staying with Fayaz?" She asked me.
"Jee (YES), now go giggle with your girlfriends," I teased.
"I will, thank you very much," she said storming away.
"Love you! Asalwalaykum!" I called out, barely being able to contain my laughter.
"Love you too" she murmured, "Walaylumasalam!"

Ameera's POV:
All the guests would be staying for two weeks, WHICH MEANS I'D BE LIVING UNDER THE SAME ROOF AS HAMZA FOR TWO WEEKS. why did I even care?
Fawzia lived in what was practically a mansion, Alhamdulillah, so they could house a lot of people, until the Walima (rest of the wedding), tomorrow.
But the best part was I'd be rooming with Hajira, Fawzia, and Aisha.
---
"How would you take your coffee?" Hajira asked me.
"Eww... coffee? Hard pass, hot chocolate with whip cream," I told her.
Hajira giggled.
"If you said straight black coffee, I'd never trust you again," Fawzia told me.
"Anyone who takes their coffee like that is a phsyco, and probably a serial killer," I said laughing.
I noticed that Aisha wasn't paying attention, her mind was clearly elsewhere, before I could tap her back to reality she said:
"Hey Meeru, Remember the story you were telling us earlier?" Aisha asked.
"Yes, what about it?" I asked softly.
"You should forgive Hamza, for it," Aisha told me.
"Meeru, what I'm about to say, I mean it with love. In the quran it says "Let them pardon and overlook, Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is All Forgiving and Merciful." (Quran; 24:22). Don't judge Hamza by one act, you don't know him. I understand that you were offended that he yelled at you and embarrassed you, and I'm sorry about that. But Meeru-jaan, If Allah, the all merciful lord, who doesn't owe us anything, can forgive us if our sins were like the foam of the ocean, we can surely forgive the little things that people did to us," She said full of love for me in her voice.
My heart broke because of the lingering feelings of a grudge I had, my eyes glistened with remorse, and let the wise words that my elder sister had told me sink in. I shoved any of the remaining feelings away, and forced myself to think good of everyone.
"Ashu," I gushed, "Thank you," I said clamoring her in a hug.
Fawzia and Hajira were speechless at Aisha's wise words.
"Now Ukhtana (sisters), should we get some beauty sleep?" Aisha said, trying to raise the spirits.
I didn't even realize how tiered I was, until now, I closed my eyes and before I knew it, I was asleep, having nightmares about chai.
-------------------
*at tahaddjud that night*
"AND YOU"RE INTERESTED IN MARRIAGE?!" I shouted with surprise into the phone?!
I was talking to my brother, Ayan, who was in Pakistan over the phone.
"SHHHH Meeru, how do you have this much energy when it's 3 in the morning for you?!" he chastised.
"Well I dunno?! Maybe cause you drop a bombshell on me,"
He chuckled.
"THERES NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT THIS. waaait... who's the girl?" I asked curious now.
"Now you're interested?" He teased.
"AYAN, just shut up and tell me her name!"
"Kha- Khadija," he said.
Why did he sound almost....
Almost nervous? Is this what love does to a human being? Bhaiya was NEVER nervous.
"Does Ammi know?" I asked him.
"Yes, I talked to her a few weeks ago, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you earlier Meeru, I just didn't want you to get your hopes up, Sheikh was supervising us talking," Ayan told me.
"Bhaiya it's okay," I reassured him, "So when am I going to meet my sister in law?"
"Okay, let's not go that fast-"
"No I'm being serious, when?" I teased him.
"I'll get Khadija to talk to you InshAllah," he said flustered.
"How are you feeling?" I asked him.
"Alhamdulillah, a new chapter in my life is happening, I'm doing well, the ayah in the Quran, is what is keeping me patient: ' Your spouses are a garment (comfort, chastity, and protection) for you as you are for them. (Quran 2:187) ' "
"Teekhay, Teekhay MR . I-memorized-the-Quran." I continued to tease him.
"ALAHAFIZ! (BYE)" he yelled into the speaker and promptly cut the call before I could tease him more about his future wife.
