Cortana is activated by a transmission retrieved by the ship. "Cortana, I need you to awaken the Chief. I've got a new missi-" She pauses the message and sighs. "Not this time." She says to herself. She already knows a place to go since she scanned the surrounding planets in the void of space for any UNSC occupancy. She activates a few buttons that ready the Chief's cryo-tube for opening. Soon after, there is a hissing of air as he exits his "container." Cortana greets him as his heavy, armored footsteps land on the ship's floor. "Welcome back, Chief." She says in her usually electronic vocals. He nods at her, regaining his sense of motion and relearning how to walk since he's been in a tube for how long. "Just got a message for you. Looks like you need to retrieve something of great importance." The Chief shakes his head to get rid of any dizziness. "What is it?" He asks. "Well, apparently, it's some sort of super weapon that is capable of increasing our gun and firepower tenfold. It's called the Energy Inducer Ray. It can mow down armies with the click of a button or pull of a trigger." Cortana informs him. The Master Chief begins gathering supplies and packing weapons as Cortana readies the ship to drop him down. "Sounds like a blast..." He says sarcastically. Cortana chuckles. "Literally." Once the Chief has checked all his weapons, ammo, and bombs, he clips a line onto the front of his waist and pulls it, checking that it's secure. "Ready to drop?" Cortana asks him with a smile. "Born ready." He says with a speck of confidence and squeezes the rope tight.
