Ariana attended the call backs at the theatre again. She knew that she would not be able to go there again all by herself, so she asked Colleen to come along. Zayn defintely wouldnt be up for going with her, especially after what happened the previous night. A nervous Ariana sits in the rough, navy blue chair while trying to memorize the lines that had been given to her.
"Ugh, I can't do this!" Ariana spoke.
"No, you can do this. You're just thinking too hard." Colleen responds. Her hand rests on Ariana's shoulder.
"I feel like I'm not thinking at all."
"Take deep breaths and review the script again. I'll go get you some water." Colleen gave Ari a sympathetic smile, and walked away to get some water.
'I sure wish Zayn was here...' Ariana thought to herself. Her stomach continued to do flips as she saw the other actors going over their lines. What if they were better than her? What if they made it and she didn't? These questions ran through her mind countless times.
Ari checked her phone to see if there'd be a text from anyone. Nope, not even Zayn giving her a 'good luck' or 'I know you can do this'. She stared at her phone with disappointment and a tear fell down her face.
"What jerk made you so upset?" a rough voice asked. Ariana looked up and it was Nathan. His brown curls fell directly on top of his forehead.
"No one, I'm fine. Thank you for asking though." Ariana lied. She wiped the tear off her face and smiled brightly.
"Ok.. I've come across some really weird chicks in my day, but that was really weird."
"What was weird?" Ariana frowned.
"The way you just switched emotions, almost robotically." he finished.
Ariana pushed her straight brown hair behind her ear. She had only knew how to change emotions so quickly because of her mother. Seeming sad or disappointed in front of her mother wasn't what she wanted her to see. So, Ariana tried to keep a smile on her face as much as possible so that Ms.Grande would not have to worry.
"Shouldn't you be rehearsing your lines?" Ari blurted. Nathan looked at her with his eyebrows furrowed. "Ugh I didn't mean to be so rude, I just-"
"Don't worry about it, I'll see you inside." He smiled at me. She looked at him with confusion before returning the smile.

After a while, people had been rushing in and out of those audition doors. Ariana couldn't help but feel a tightening in her stomach from being so nervous. Her teeth began to chatter, the sweat on her palms grew even more. She placed her head on Colleen's shoulder, wishing that Zayn was there.
"Ariana Grande!" a short blonde woman shouted.
Ariana jolted at the ladies voice. She took a deep breath as Colleen stood in front of her.
"You've got this okay? Just remember everything I told you about. Make them need you, alright? You're gonna do just fine." Colleen said, giving Ariana a big hug.
"Ariana Grande, last call!" the lady shouted.
"Right here, mam!" Ariana yelled and ran across the room. Colleen smiled at her one last time before she went through the door.
"Okay, Ariana Grande is it?" the man spoke.
"Um yes."
