"Where's the rest of my mora!?" You demanded. You were confronting a client you had just served in a secluded alleyway of the village, your fists clenched tightly.

The man feigned an innocent look, as if he had never abused you of your services

"The rest of your mora? You must be mistaken. Our deal was that I'd offer you twelve bits of mora, nothing more, nothing less. Count the mora again."

You gritted your teeth, your grip tightening over the pouch of mora the man had given you. Fingers fumbling, you manage to take out the bits of mora and started counting it in mumbles, but not too low to make sure the man heard your voice.

"...ten, eleven, twelve. See!? Twelve bits of mora. Look, sir, if you can't afford to give me the proper amount of mora for my generous service to you, I'm willing to come back and meet up with you tomorrow to collect the rest."

The man frowned, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Are you trying to scam me? A young lady like you should know by now that the client is always right," he said, his voice filled with nothing but pure arrogance.

Despite your growing frustration, you try to keep a neutral expression on the outside. The nerve of this guy!

They sent you to slaughter an entire horde of hilichurls invading their land just for twelve bits of mora?

Your frown deepened, completely infuriated by the outcome. After all that hard work you put into, this is how he treats you? You recalled clearly the deal you struck with the man, his words clear in broad daylight, saying he'd offer you two hundred bits of mora for each hilihchurl killed. If he thinks he can just stand there with that cocky grin of his and get away with this...

As if sensing your hidden frustration, the man leaned closer before whispering for only you and him to hear.

"If you really think I've so unjustly cheated you for a fair bargain, why don't we just take this up to the Tenryou commission," the man said, inclining his head toward the side where two guards stood, holding both their spears tightly.

You gulped nervously. You knew this man was taking advantage of the fact that you were hiding from their sights and he seemed to have taken great pride in his actions.

Taking a deep breath, you forced yourself to relax your fingers, trying to hold yourself back. It was like trying to calm and hurdle thunderous clouds before they would cause a storm. Violence was not the way to solve this, it wouldn't do much but dig an even deeper hole for you. And the last thing you wanted to do was cause even more attention to yourself. Instead you sheathed your katana behind your back and silently pocketed the mora into your sack.

"No need for that. Thank you for accepting my services," you said grimly, biting the inside of your cheek to prevent yourself from saying anything more. The man had this smug look on his face as you spun on one heel and started to walk away from the alleyway, not taking another glance behind you.

You wouldn't want to play with your chances of being captured by the guards. No. That would ruin everything.

You wandered around before finding yourself alone in a clearing. It was quite peaceful in this area as you rarely find anyone coming through here. Still you would always make sure to scout and double check the area. Once the coast was clear, you felt the need to unwind after the whole incident and allowed your body to sit down cross legged in the grassy area near the cliffside.

You let out a low groan as if to release all your frustrations out, running a hand through your hair. A distraction, you thought to yourself. I just need a healthy distraction.
