Sun's POV:
I sit in my testing chair, smiling happily while kicking my legs back and forth. I was so happy I could barely contain myself! I just found out that I will be working with someone who has the designation number "02". 01 and 02. Does that mean we're the first of our kind? What even is our kind, anyway? Robots, AI, metal beings? I don't even know.
"Hey, Mr. Jason?" I asked. "When will I be able to go out and meet 02?" Jason turned from his computer to face me.
"Soon Sunlight. Try to calm down until then," Jason motioned towards my legs which were energetically kicking back and forth, as well as my head that was nodding side to side from excitement. "Besides, Dr. Levine just notified me that 02 will be heading over here in a little while, so just sit still for a little longer." I smiled and nodded. No matter how hard I tried to control myself, this information just seemed to make me happier. As soon as Jason turned around, I brought my knees up to my chest, clenched my hands in fists and put them next to my head while squealing loudly.
Jason rolled his eyes and chuckled to himself.
"What do you think his name is? Will it be like mine? Oh, oh! What will he look like?! Probably just as cool and pretty as I'm imagining, maybe even prettier!" I rambled on and on, not knowing just how much time has passed. I kept on talking as Jason had some robotic arms and other humans paint symbols and patterns on me, as well as spray paint my sunrays and decorate my wrists and ankles with some sort of red ribbon.
Soon enough, Jason sighed loudly and said, "Done, finally." I stopped talking and turned to look at him, then down at my arms, legs, body and feet. I gasped.
"WOW! You guys did an AMAZING job!" I said, standing up and twirling as my ribbons spun with me. I giggled.
A loud "ding!" came from Jason's computer, so he went and checked it. Not too long after, he walked back over to me.
"Hey Sunlight, your partner is finally here!" he said. My eyes widened in excitement. I get to meet someone else who is just like me, and who will be my best friend forever! I can't wait! "Follow me, Sunlight. I'm sure 02 is just as excited to meet you as well."
I instantly jumped up from my seat and followed closely behind Jason. I just remembered that I was almost a foot taller than him, 6'9 to be exact. It was a little funny, being so tall compared to this human. I ducked through the doorway as the mechanical door opened, allowing a blinding light to flow in. As soon as I stepped out, I frantically looked around, searching for a certain robot named 02. Until finally, I heard an unfamiliar voice speak from behind me.
"Hello, 01."
