Chapter Twelve (12): The Impetus

After the Guardian Council had scavenged the Ruins of Lucien, they had hopped on the Luna Moth, leaving the scrambled City to rest.

The Luna Moth smoothly floated through the clouds as the sun began to set, gradients of orange and pink filled the sky as the wind pranced around the evening. Emily laid upon the railing as it creaked against her force, she sighed heavily, staring mindlessly into the Horizon. Emily fidgeted with her Amulet as she looked down at the clouds, the wind blowing through the air, she couldn't help but have a nagging feeling that someone or something was following them, she examined and looked closely through the clouds, just to spot anything! Anything that was odd, anything that moved, 'Maybe I'm just being paranoid...' Emily though as she leaned forward to the railing, "Emily, you're going to fall if you keep doing that." A soft, soothing voice had spoken behind her, as Emily turned to look behind as she saw a familiar face, "Trellis, what are you doing out here?" Emily questioned as Trellis walked to stand beside her, Emily stopped leaning forward as she started to look at Trellis, who was simply standing beside her gazing outward, "Just stargazing..." Trellis whispered as Emily turned to look outward, her mouth gaped opened as she saw billion stars scattered across the sky in front of them. How long was she out here for?

Trellis chuckled "You were out here for quite some time." Emily turned to look at Trellis who was smiling at her, "Huh, I guess." Emily lightly laughed as she got up from where she laid, "Um..." Trellis muttered, Emily stretched as she turned to look at Trellis, "What's wrong?" Emily asked seeing an awkward expression on his face, Trellis sighed, "Remember back at the Ruins?" Emily gestured him to go on, Emily didn't know what he was talking about, all she remembers was helping Vigo, Splitting up and then... Kissing Trellis...

She kissed Trellis.

She kissed the Prince of the Elves.

"O-Oh, Trellis I uh- I didn't mean to u-um kiss you!..." Emily stammered out, the last part had her face heated, Trellis reassured, "Don't worry, I uh- I liked the kiss..." He quietly spoke, a tinge of faint pink floated across Trellis's face as his ears pointed down, Emily chuckled at how adorable he looked. Trellis immediately covered his pointy ears and turned away, "Ah! Quit laughing!" Trellis joked, Emily just chuckled even more as she sputtered out, "Aww... But you look adorable!" Emily immediately shut up, after she said that. Now it was the opposite, Trellis was now laughing at Emily as Emily started to get embarrassed, "Shut Up! Shut Up!" Emily yelled out, trying to get Trellis to stop laughing at her and all it took was a playful punch to his arm, "Alright, Alright! I'll stop laughing." Trellis's laughing quieted, though Emily would want to hear more, I mean she barely ever saw him laugh.

Trellis leaned against the railing on his backside as he turned to look at Emily, both were still blushing but not as heavily as they were before, "So what were you doing out here?" Trellis broke the unnoticed silence between them, "Me? Um- I was just checking out the view." Emily lied, she didn't want to lie but she didn't wanna worry him, the poor elf has already been through enough already, well both of them have. Trellis sighed, "You're a bad liar." Emily's eyes widened, she spoke "Are you calling me a liar?" Emily acted as she was in disbelief, she didn't expect for him to figure out so quickly, "That's what I said AND I know you're not here to check out the view." Trellis bluntly said, as his tone menaced.

Emily sighed, "I just feel paranoid that...that something is watching us."

Trellis looked up at the sky as he closed his eyes for a moment, confessing, "We are all so paranoid, Emily." 

Emily looks up at Trellis, to which he stares at her.

"But I'm glad I get to be paranoid with you." A small and soft smile crept onto his lips as he spoke.
