- Derrick -

I woke up late and turned to see Nicole sound asleep. I sat up before grabbing my phone. I smiled as I thought of calling my sleeping assistant. She's off today but I still called her phone as if she wasn't next to me.

"Hello?" She sleepily said after grabbing her phone.

"I'm running late, you mind calling up there for me?" I asked and smiled.

"You're an asshole." She said and hung up before rubbing her eyes.

"That's no way to talk to your boss." I said as I leaned over her and kissed her nose.

"I'm not at work. It's my day off boss." She said as she stared up at me.

"I know. Let me go get ready for work." I said and kissed her before going into the bathroom.

I got ready and grabbed my things before going to the kitchen to see Nicole sitting on the counter. I smiled as I walked to her. She fixed my tie before kissing me and handing me a cup of coffee.

"Thanks babe." I said and smiled.

"I called. They know you're on your way. Have a good day." She said before kissing me.

"Okay. Thanks again." I said before leaving for work.

Once I got to work, I was met by my partners. After that meeting, my mom was waiting in my office. I guess today is going to be a long one.

"Hello Derrick." She said as she stared at the picture of Nicole and I.

"Hey mom. What brings you by?" I asked as I took a seat.

"Well considering you are my son and haven't called me in two weeks, I just came to see you. I miss my baby boy." She said.

"I'm your only son mom. I'm sorry I haven't called, I've been caught up."

"In your assistant, what's her name again?"

"Nicole."

"Yeah. She's really pretty, those eyes just make me so curious."

"About what?"

"Her secrets. She looks so innocent. So pure. What is she hiding?"

"Mom you can't just come up here and dissect my girlfriend. It doesn't work like that."

"Girlfriend.. So she has a title. Derrick's girlfriend. Derrick and Nicole.. I want to know more about you two. You're my only son as you said and I want to know more about your relationship with her."

"Okay. Come over tonight. I'll have her spend the night at my place and we'll have dinner. You can even invite Riley."

"Okay, I'll see you tonight. Love you baby boy, have a good day."

"Okay. Love you too."

I sighed as I sat in my chair. So much for keeping Nicky to myself. My mom and sister are going to find out every detail about her. Whether her or I like it or not. Hopefully she's strong enough to get through the night.

My day was stressful due to my dad trying to talk to me about Derrick. He thinks that because he lied about my mom that he needs to go the extra mile to protect me. It's so annoying being an only child.

"Baby please just slow down? That's all I ask. I see how much you and Derrick click but I just want you to be careful." He told me.

"Be careful of what dad?" I asked as I looked at him.
