Chapter 12

Wolf had woken up upon receiving the text and had bolted out of his apartment and over to Donald and Kingsley's place. Winter had fallen asleep in Donald's arms and Wolf carefully took her from him.

"She was running away from home," Kingsley informed. "She thought she was getting in the way of your happiness because you didn't want to date Jake while taking care of her,"

"What do you know about her past life?" Donald inquired.

"She told me that she died when she was seven," Wolf answered as he gently ran a hand through his daughter's hair. "She never went into details about how she died,"

"Her parents in her past life were abusive," Donald revealed. "Your the first parent to ever show her love. Don't you ever hurt her or I'll personally kill you myself,"

Wolf glared back at him. "I would never hurt my daughter,"

When Winter woke up, Wolf had already finished making breakfast. She quietly sat down at her usual seat and ate the food Wolf set in front of her. Winter couldn't bring herself to make eye contact with her father.

"I'd never give you up, Winter," Wolf said. "You're the person I care most. You're my entire world. If I lost you, I don't know what I'd do,"

"Winter Keum never existed in the canon storyline," Winter revealed. "In the original timeline, it was only Wolf Keum. So it shouldn't matter whether I'm with you or not,"

"Hey," Wolf interrupted her. "I'm not that Wolf Keum. You said it yourself, that Winter never existed in the canon storyline. So I'm a different Wolf Keum. I'm not from the canon storyline,"

"I just..." Winter cried. "I don't want to be a burden any longer! You deserve to be happy, too!"

"I am happy," Wolf claimed. "And a burden is a responsibility that was set upon you without your input. I chose to love you and raise you, Winter. You're not a burden. If I thought you were a burden, I'd have ditched you a long time ago,"

There was a knock at the door and Jake entered. "Hey, for some reason Kingsley texted me to bring you some flowers?"

Kingsley suddenly entered the apartment, grabbed Winter, and then left. 

"Uh...I think Kingsley just kidnapped your daughter," Jake said.

"Oh my fucking god," Wolf groaned. "Donald and Kingsley are playing wingmen,"

"What?" Jake asked.

"They want us to get together," Wolf deadpanned.

"I mean, I wouldn't mind," Jake said. "I do like you, Wolf,"

"I'm a teenage parent," Wolf reminded. "I'm sure you have lots of people willing to date you. Find someone else,"

"I wouldn't mind being a stepdad to Winter, even if we're only high schoolers," Jake said. "I love Winter. She's a great kid and we have a lot in common. I know what I'm getting myself into, Wolf. Kenny threatened to break my leg if I ever become an evil stepparent," He held the flowers out for Wolf to take. "But what matters is do you love me too?"

"I'm sorry, Uncle Donald," Winter apologized. "I shouldn't have said all those mean things to you. I'm sorry,"

"It's fine," Donald waved her off. "I've already grown numb to those comments,"

"I still shouldn't have said those things!" Winter hugged Donald. "You also deserve to be loved. You deserve to be happy. You and your mother didn't deserve to die,"

"Does...Does Donald die in the future?" Kingsley asked shakily.

"Yeah," Winter nodded. "I don't know if it was an accident or if it was Cheongang that was responsible, but Donald got hit by a truck and died,"

"Tell us what happens in the future," Kingsley requested. 

"Chungil Lee got arrested," Winter informed. "I don't know the exact details, but one of the higher ups signed off on a policy which exposed him as having insider info. The Union businesses took a hit. You sent the Mokha Duo after the student who submitted the policy, which resulted in an all out war against Eunjang. You defeated the two top fighters of Eunjang, but afterwards you decided to disband the Union after growing tired of it. You also kicked Myles' and Manwol's asses after they tried to ambush you while you were exhausted,"

"After that, you wandered around until you came across Eunjang at an overpass. You wanted to fight the White Mamba again, but the hidden meaning behind your words was you begging him to stop you. Since you were standing in the middle of the road, you got hit by a truck," Winter hugged Donald again. "I don't want you to die, Uncle Donald!"

"I'm not going to die," Donald patted Winter's back. 

"This world is very different from the original timeline, so I don't know for sure how things will go," Winter said. "In the original version, you and Kingsley were never actually dating, although pretty sure Kingsley was down bad for you. Winter Keum never existed and Wolf and Jake were never on friendly terms and just wanted to fight each other,"

"I'm not going to die," Donald repeated. "Like you said, this world is different from the original. I won't die. Wolf and Jake will date. You'll live happily with your father and stepfather,"

"Speaking of stepfathers," Winter looked up at Donald. "Can we hunt down and beat up that fucker?"

"Sure," Donald agreed. "Wolf doesn't seem to mind you beating up other people. Besides, I think I let that bastard off easy with only three broken fingers, considering that he tormented me and my mother for years,"

Wolf and Jake started dating. Jake adored Winter as if she were his own daughter. Winter loved Jake as a second father. Wolf and Jake did spent some time alone together where it was just the two of them, although Wolf was always really hesitant. During those times, Winter was either left with Kenny or with Donald and Kingsley.

Donald tracked down where his stepfather was and beat him up. He invited Winter to also participate in beating up the motherfucker. Wolf was proud of his daughter beating up that bastard and was considering having her beat up Sam next.

Donald and Kingsley also informed the three about the people who had planned to kidnap Winter. Wolf was furious and once Donald and Kingsley told him of the group's location, he stormed over there and beat them all up. He injured them worse than he had ever hurt even Sam before.

Winter was still worried about what would happen in the future, especially since she was still worried about Donald's death. But if things were already different from canon, such as Wolf having a daughter and dating Jake, then who's to say more things won't change?

The original ending was Winter does get kidnapped and is taken hostage. Wolf is forced to endure all the attacks and ends up in a coma. Jake takes care of Winter while Wolf is comatose and they also visit Wolf often. Wolf wakes up, sees how much Jake cares about him, and the two start dating.

Sua Yeon: Donald's mother, Sua Lee, dies and is sent back in time where she ends up reincarnating as Sua Yeon, the twin sister of Gray Yeon. She is unable to prevent her present self's death, and instead focuses on taking care of Donald. She acts as the Mom Friend of the group.
A Tear in Time: Donald and Sua from six years ago (before Sua was hospitalized) fall through a time rift and end up in present day Yeongdeungpo at the start of Season 2. Sua ends up dating Changhui.
