gentle warmth began to softly caress my face, I felt myself slowly rousing from a serene and tranquil slumber.

Slowly opening my eyes, I squinted as the sunrise greeted me through the window, its warm streaks of light sneaking into the living room.

The gentle illumination made me instantly realize the storm had already passed.

Jake: Alright, I'll give it to her; she was actually right for once - I muttered, sitting up - These couches are hella uncomfortable.

I ran my hand along my neck, gently turning my head in an effort to soothe my tense muscles.

At last, a gratifying crack echoed through my neck, and a soft groan of relief escaped my lips.

Before I even checked the time, I could tell it was early because the house was totally silent, meaning I must've woken up first.

No Lucy giggles, no chatter, no footsteps—just me and pure, peaceful silence.

I traced my hand over my face to stir myself awake, then gradually rose from the couch—shaking off the lingering haze of slumber, I drifted toward the kitchen.

As my palm glided over the smooth surface of the kitchen door, I turned my gaze toward the staircase.

The stillness confirmed my initial thought; the rest of the team still lay in peaceful slumber.

I eased the door open and, with a gentle turn of my head, stepped into the kitchen's embrace, greeted by its warm, inviting light.

Yet, it was not so much the sunrise sneaking through the windows that brought smile to my face, but rather the figure within the kitchen.

Jake: Someone pinch me because I can't believe this - I smirked, stepping closer - The biggest sleepyhead on earth is up before such an early bird like me?

Elena: I could trade the pinch for a punch, does that work for you?

Jake: Works for me. That'll give me a chance to see if you've actually gotten any better.

And there she stood, wrapped in her pajamas, her back to me as she moved gracefully around the kitchen island.

Jake: Good morning - I smiled, stopping right behind her.

Elena: Hi - She said nonchalantly, stirring her mug with a spoon.

Jake: Whatcha Doin'?

Elena: Coffee.

Jake: Need a hand?

Elena: Nope - She shot back, shaking her head - I'm a big girl; I can handle this demanding task.

As I glanced over her shoulder, I beheld the graceful dance of her hands, orchestrating the ritual of coffee-making with an effortless elegance.

Watching her right hand stretch towards the sugar bowl, her gaze fixed on the mug, a sly smile played upon my lips.
