Ren's voice came through the phone loud and clear.

I sighed, shutting my eyes.

And here we go again.

Nick: Ren, we need you - I opened my eyes - We won't be able to do it without your help.

Ren: Ren do this, Ren do that, Ren go here, Ren help there - She groaned - For crying out loud, since we got to LA, I've heard it way more than in my whole 8 years with the CIA!

Nick: We came to LA specifically to catch X - I pointed out - So yeah, it means we've got to put in some extra work.

Ren: Exactly, we came here to catch X, not to work as FBI servants.

Nick: We're not their servants, Ren - I sighed - We're cooperating.

Ren: Alright, then you can work with them without me - She said casually - I told you, I'm not getting involved.

Nick: But Elena's plan hinges on you, Ren. Honestly, you're the key player in this.

Ren: Tinker bell can kiss my ass - She muttered - Told you it'd turn out like this. Once was all it took for them to get used to our "help," and now they expect it all the time.

Nick: Elena's not counting on your help out of some sense of duty; she knows you're highly skilled and experienced with X's systems - I pointed out - She could've left this sorely to Luka, but she knows you'll handle it way better.

Ren: Such a distinction - She smirked sarcastically - I might just sign an autograph and send it to her.

Nick: We're all in this X case - My tone went firmer - CIA, FBI, and DMIA are all tangled up in this mess, like it or not. We'll only get through it by working together.

Ren: I care about it as much as I like it.

Nick: Ren, please don't reject this plan just because it's Elena's - I sighed - You're not dumb; you know it's a genius plan, just like I do. You're just too stubborn to admit it and come help.
