ELIDORA III

King Maesarys Roesarian was in Thronehall when his grandson wed Elidora, however, he had not shown up. Not even for the feast.

If Elidora believed the court gossip, the king refused to participate in any sort of events after exiling his youngest son, Prince Oris, for treason. It was Queen Idalia and the King's Advisor who was left to settle the matters of the realm, and luckily for them, the kingdoms were at peace.

King Maesarys, however, was well aware of the union since his personal manservant relayed a message to both Elidora and Prince Deonidas on their wedding night. As the feasting came to an end, while the last meal, being bloody cherry pie, was served, a servant crept up to the dais the newly weds sat on, approached the prince and whispered into his ear while planting a scrolled letter beside his fresh pie.

No one knows what was the context of the letters, but to Elidora, it was pretty evident, especially when the prince declared one last toast in his wife's honor, a hand extended out for her to clasp as the other jammed the letter into the pocket of his red velvet and black rose embroidered brocade.

The court and crowd clapped, and Princess Amaryllis had a proud smirk on her face when Elidora glanced over her shoulder to look at her. The prince dragged her gently away from the hall, and the sounds of the applause and boasts of congratulations still echoed loud throughout the castle and assaulted Elidora's ears even as she was brought to Deonidas's apartments in the Rose Stronghold, the manse within Thronehall that the king gifted to Amaryllis, his only remaining child.

Elidora expected the two to share the rest of their night alone, as newly married couples were expected to, according to her mother and father, and yet, when the prince opened the large door to his chambers, inside stood his grandsire, King Maesarys Rosearian, a priestess, the castle's deien and a few servants.

It was a night she would never forget, and not for good reason. Before she laid in bed in her white nightgown with her husband, a priestess blessed them both as well as the bed they proceeded to lay on. When it was time to remove her clothes, with watchful eyes lingering on her pale skin, Elidora was helped by two maidservants out of her wedding gown.

A crowd of witnesses lingered like shadows in a corner of the room as the prince mounted himself over Elidora, and after several strokes, as well as a mere nod of encouragement by the king, Maesarys and his company parted the room while Deonidas tossed himself beside the extremely overwhelmed Elidora. He laid beside her and pulled her close, her back pressed against his sweaty chest, and fell asleep, whereas Elidora was wide awake.

She's heard of marriages having to be consummated with witnesses to confirm, but she didn't expect for the KING to be amongst them. It stirred her mind and kept her up all through the night, and when Deonidas rose in the morning, Elidora was still wide awake, and she hadn't moved an inch.
