Elle’s P.OV

Today was the day I’d been dreading, I was finally going to move. I’ve never known another home besides living in New York City. The lights were bright and glamorous; this was the one place where all of your dreams could come true. Even Broadway said so. I was leaving all of my dreams behind to move to a small city in Louisiana that probably only had five thousand people for a population.

It all started to this day two months ago when my dad had received a promotion, you would think that a promotion would entail moving to another big city, I was so wrong. At first I had thought my parents were playing a joke on me and then I realized they were actually being serious.

My parents seemed happy moving to the quiet, peaceful country life. I wasn’t though. Instead I spent the last hour crying over how much I didn’t want to move. I looked out the window of what is now my old flat and saw my best friend Megan coming up.

I’ve known Megan ever since the first grade. She was the new girl in class; the new girl seemed nice enough so I invited her to sit with my friends and me at our lunch table. Megan pulled out her lunch and had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, my favorite. I then pulled out my ham and cheese sandwich which was her favorite. We decided to switch and haven’t stopped talking to each other since.

Now I’m fifteen. She promised me that we would always stay in contact with each other and that we would always be best friends. We hugged each other and then went to the airport to go to what is now my new home.

When we flew into the airport in Louisiana, I went to the baggage claim to get my suitcase. In front of me was a guy who was blocking my suitcase as it was moving along the conveyor belt. I decided to tell him off so I tapped his shoulder and told him that he was blocking my way.

He apologized and then moved so then I could get my suitcase. The guy then said his name was Cole and I then said I never asked for his name. He gave me what looked like a wink and then walked off with the rest of his family. Thank god I would never see him again; he seemed like an arrogant, stuck up guy!

Thirty minutes later:

Elle's P.O.V

My dad finally pulled in to our new house what seemed like hours later. I actually really liked our new house contrary to missing my old flat. This house was a lot larger and plus it had a swimming pool, BONUS!!

I stepped out of the car and walked around the neighborhood. I hadn’t even walked twenty feet when I saw the guy from the airport. Wait what was he doing here?? Did he follow me? Then it hit me, he was going to be my new neighbor, this day was only going to get worse from here. I quickly spun around and started walking the opposite direction when he saw me.

Cole: Hey aren’t you that cute chick from the airport?

Elle: And you’re that obnoxious jerk from the airport?

Cole: *chuckles* Looks like city girl moved to the country! Well aren’t you excited for that?! (Sarcasm)

Elle: *starts to walk away*

Cole: Wait don’t go! I know we got off to a bad start, but I’m usually not like that…

Elle: Then what are you like?

Cole: I guess you’ll just have to figure that out for yourself *winks* Anyways you have a name don’t you?

Elle: My names Elle Davis, what about yours?

Cole: I told you already my names Cole, Cole Robertson *phone rings* I’m sorry I have to take this

Elle: *stays silent*

Cole: I have to go, but hey I’ll see you around

Elle: I’m dreading that, but yup I’ll definitely see you around alright..

Cole’s P.O.V

I still don’t think she likes me.. at least shes no longer girl with no name, shes Elle. I guess it’s the way I come across when I’m nervous? Sadie told me I can act like a real jerk when I’m nervous, I even start to become cocky apparently which is so unlike me..

This is the affect that girls have on me I guess, but then again what guy can figure a girl out? It just seems so complicated.. I snapped out of it.  I had to go to the hardware store to grab a few tools the guys in the warehouse needed to build the world’s biggest duck call for Duck Commander’s 40th anniversary! With my dad in charge, I wasn’t really sure how this was going to turn out though.

I called John Luke to help and he picked me up in his truck and then drove us there. Even though he's my cousin, he's also one of my closest friends. I wasn’t very responsive while he was talking to me so that gave away that something was up, he could tell.

He asked me about it and then after ten minutes of giving me a hard time about it, I told him about Elle, the girl who I was falling for afar and just out of my reach. At first he started laughing about the fact that yet again I liked another girl, but this time it was different. I was being serious.

When John Luke realized it wasn’t just another small crush he told me it was time to make my move! I realized he was right, he told me I should invite her to the anniversary party. I took his advice and then whipped out my phone to dial her number, only I was stupid enough not to get it…I left the hardware store with the tools and then set out in search for Elle.
