Cole’s P.O.V

My eyes fluttered open. I yawned and then looked at my clock next to me. It was five a.m. in the morning. I never got up this early. My mind wandered off to Elle. No wonder I wasn’t able to sleep as I thought back to last night. Elle was never going to like me! This was reality!

Sometimes I’d rather go back to dreaming and stay in a sleepless state instead of having to go out into the real world. If I kept on dreaming, I would be able to control my own destiny, something I wasn’t able to do in real life.

I pulled out a clean t-shirt and shorts, and then tiptoed quietly out of the house. I didn’t want anyone to notice that I’d been gone. I was now out on the porch; I tilted my head up to see a rising dawn. I needed to clear my mind so I decided to take a walk.

Somehow I had managed not the think about Elle for an entire hour! This was an accomplishment for me believe it or not. Sad I know, if John Luke found out I wouldn’t hear the end of it. That was until I found myself standing outside her house.

I saw a small light flicker from upstairs. The light enticed me to come closer and closer until I was eventually standing in front of the house. I looked down below to see a small rock next to my foot. Then it hit me. Before I was able to completely process my idea, my hand was picking up the rock and continuously aiming it towards the window. I knew she wouldn’t pick up my calls or answer any of my texts so this was the only suitable solution I could think of.

I suddenly heard a loud thump. Was I beginning to be delirious? After all I didn’t get enough sleep. I saw a figure advancing towards the window to now see a confused Elle. I saw someone come closer to her from upstairs. Oh god don’t tell me she was sleeping with someone?! I was jumping to conclusions. Then I was able to see the figure next to Elle more clearly. It was.. Sadie?

What was she doing there?! She wasn’t supposed to be there! I hadn’t planned for this. I felt a sense of shock starting to kick in. I slowly started backing away hoping neither would notice. I made a run for it.

A few minutes later, I was now safely inside in the comfort of my own home. I pulled out my phone from my pocket and sent a message to Sadie. Maybe now she wouldn’t think I was totally crazy. I still wasn’t too thrilled about telling her though. I probably should have thought this out more.

Elle’s P.O.V

I placed one hand on my hip and my other hand out in front of me motioning for Sadie to hand over her phone. Before I could continue, I felt my drowsiness start to sink in. My mouth opened to let out a huge yawn. Within seconds later, Sadie held out her phone to hand over to me.

I scrolled through her texts looking for the conversation I knew she just had with him, I didn’t see it though. My expression showed how surprised I was to not see anything. Sadie then came to my side and showed me that it wasn’t an incoming text, just a notification from Facebook.

I believed her, I knew she would never lie to me after everything I told her I’d been through. I couldn’t stop getting the nagging feeling however that she was hiding something.

Cole's P.O.V

About three hours later, I was still upstairs in my room pacing back and forth attempting to contemplate my thoughts. There was nothing I could do and it was as simple as that. But I didn’t want it to turn out that way. I didn’t want to give up hope. Hope was the one thing I learned not to give up on and I sure as hell wasn’t going to give up on her. She was too special.
