"You're still the same girl, you always were." - Same Girl (Randy Newman)
Well damn, you thought as you looked out of the police vehicle's dirty windows, thats a big ass building. The van rolled up to the entrance gate, the officer mumbling something into the microphone. How you got here? Well let's not... reminisce on that now. Even if the first impression of the Sanatarium was, well, menacing... you were excited! You absolutely idolized the cold blooded serial killers roomed here! They were just so cool to you, and you had no rational reason why. You just did! You wanted to pick apart their brains like a real psychologist. Maybe you could even get to meet Hannibal!
Oh who's kidding, none of them would probably even look in your direction. Not to mention you were too nervous to even start up a conversation with any of them. God knows you'd fuck that up! But either way, that doesn't mean you couldn't watch them from afar. It's like you'll be their own little... uh... paparazzi? Yeah you'll have to work on that title. The front gate flung open, bringing you out of your thoughts with the loud noise. The car drove to the front doors and stopped, the van door sliding open with a thud.
"Move along (L/N)." The officer said strictly, a stern expression on his face. You gazed at him with a straight face and stepped out of the vehicle, letting him guide you inside. Immediately you're basically flashbanged with how blindingly white everything is. It's so goddamn bland! The receptionist didn't seem too pleased to be there either. She looked very tired, and annoyed. Mostly annoyed. Next to the front desk was a woman with a brown bob cut and blue eyes that just stared into your soul. You didn't want to interact with any of them, and decided to just stay silent.
You found out that the woman's name was Kelly and she was like the warden or something? You kinda zoned out the entire time and didn't listen at all. Blindly following her, you kept thinking of how boring it was going to be there and how you would most likely be treated like an animal. She stopped suddenly and you accidentally knocked into her, almost knocking her off her feet. She looked at you with judging eyes, and you glanced to the floor nervously.
"So, as I was saying.." She grumbled. "You'll be staying in the 800 hall with serial killers such as Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees." Your eyes bulge out of your head at what she just said. She saw your confused and shocked expression on your face and sighed. "I explained this Miss (L/N). The Asylum has no other rooms available. It's completely full. Keep in mind you will be in the very first door, which where the rather peaceful murderers reside; though you'll still be in the same hall as the most aggressive ones too. This means you'll have the same activity times and meal times as them too." She irritatedly said.
You almost couldn't contain your nervousness. Being able to see your favorite killers.. almost all the time? This was a dream come true! But you had to stay calm. You didn't want to freak this woman out and make her consider sending you to a separate asylum. No, that just couldn't happen, and it won't. You simply straighten your face and nod. Kelly signals you to get into your room and you follow orders, walking in and taking a seat on your (very uncomfortable) bed.
"Theres a paper on your desk with our schedule on it." Kelly says. "It also includes who you'll have activity time with and any other information you might need. I'll see you for lunchtime, (L/N)." You finally hear her heels clicking away from the door. With that, you start to take in your surroundings. The room was simple enough. A bed in the corner of the room with a desk in the other that had a stack of papers on it and a dull pencil. The door also read #801. You assumed that was your room number.
You get up from the bed and trudge over to the desk, sitting down in the padded chair. There was indeed a paper with all the information Kelly specified. It started with the schedule:
• Breakfast - 8:00 - 8:45 AM
• Outdoor/Indoor Recreation (Choice) - 9:00 - 9:30 AM
• Group Therapy - 9:45 - 11:00 AM
• Personal Time (Report to rooms) 11:15 - 11:45 AM
• Luncheon - 12:00 - 12:45 PM
• Visitation/Personal Time - 1:00 - 2:00 PM
• Hygiene Break - 2:15 - 3:00 PM
• Journaling (Report to rooms) - 4:15 - 4:45 PM
• Dinner - 5:00 - 5:45 PM
• Personal Time - 6:00 - 7:55 PM
• Lights Out - 8:00 PM"Early ass dinner.." You mumbled to yourself. Below was info about the schedule. You skimmed through it and it seemed pretty straightforward. It was just some suggestions of what you could do during free time, where to report to for lunch and activities, stuff like that. The last part interested you though.
Well that's interesting. You've never heard of any asylum doing something like this before. They probably just want less suicides or something so they grow "supportive bonds" or whatever. You didn't really care, but were also curious to who you'd be paired up with. It's not like you'd know who they were either way.
"Us at Smiths Grove Sanatarium encourage friendships to be made as you spend your time here. Due to this, during recreational time you will be paired up with someone from your ward. You will be introduced to your partner by way of guards, who will lead you to said person. Your partners name is also printed on the back of this document."
Flipping to the back of the page, you see a Q&A. Reading through that, you didn't find any questions you really cared about. Still useful though you guess. Looking to the bottom of the paper, there was one last thing listed.
Activity Partner:
Patient #807 - Jason Voorhees
