Dear diary,
My mother got you this for my 7th birthday. My father Sultan Ahmed, with my mothers guidance, is arranging a marriage for me with Öküz Kara Mehmed Pasha. I'm not that excited, for I am only 7, but my mother insists it will be good for me. We might be married in the Old Palace, and I would be sure that would be our home. The details haven't quite been finalised, so not in the next two months. Perhaps the wedding will take place in the spring.
