The next morning, Carlisle and his kids were in the diner eating breakfast. The woman from yesterday, his mother, walked into the diner.
"I see you found Granny's Bed and Breakfast all right." She said.
"Yes, we did." Carlisle said. "Thank you again for the directions."
"You're welcome." The woman said as she sat at a table nearby. "I'm Mary Margaret."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Carlisle Swan." Carlisle introduced. "And these are my kids, Ezra, Vanessa, and Talia." He looked to see if she recognized his name, but it didn't seem she did.
"It's nice to meet you all as well." Mary Margaret said. "Are you staying in Storybrooke a while?"
"I think so. Time for a change." Carlisle replied. "What do you do?"
"I work at the school as a fourth grade teacher." Mary Margaret answered.
"Oh. That's the grade my twins are in, Ezra and Vanessa." Carlisle said.
"Well, I guess I'll possibly see them in my class." Mary Margaret said.
"Yes well, I'll need to enroll them first." Carlisle said with a chuckle.
"And what do you do?" Mary Margaret asked.
"I'm a paramedic." Carlisle said.
"That's great." Mary Margaret said. "Well, I have to get to school. I suppose I'll see you guys around."
"Yes." Carlisle said. He couldn't help watching his mother walk away.
"Daddy?" Talia brought him out of his thoughts.
"Yes, sweetheart?" Carlisle said.
"Can we go to that castle we saw in the town?" Talia asked.
"Sure." Carlisle said. Talia smiled.
After they finished their breakfast, Carlisle went to the school to get his kids enrolled and then brought them to the wooden castle that was in the town.
Talia was playing on the castle.
Vanessa was sitting on a bench, playing her video game.
And Carlisle was kicking a soccer ball around with Ezra, helping him with his skills.
"Daddy, come play with me." Talia called.
"I'll be right there, princess." Carlisle replied. "Let me finish up with your brother."
Carlisle spent the rest of the day spending time with his kids.
