Matteo's POV
•••••••••••••••••

It has been two days since the trial, Mom and Dad decided to throw a party.

I walked into her room to meet my love struggling with her zip, a cute frown etched on her face as she struggled frustratingly to pull it up. She stopped as if sensing my presence and turned to me.

"Don't laugh at me," she said slowly, glaring at me. Her voice had improved a little bit and the scar on her cheek was fading but one could still see it on a close distance.

"You need help?" I walked up to her, she slowly nodded her head and turned her back to face me. Her fair and slender back faced me, I slowly tug at her zip to zip it up and my fingers brushed her skin.

She stiffened and let out a small gasp making me smirk, It was obvious that I had an effect on her. I brushed my fingers as I continued zipping the dress.

"Matteo," she gasped and I wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my face in her neck, her hair was in an updo style giving me full access to her neck.

"Party," she said reminding me, I groaned in her neck and refused to let go.

"Let's stay here for a while," I said huskily and placed kisses on her neck, she squirmed in my hold and tried to get out but I held her tightly.

"Where do you think you are going kitten," I whispered in her ear and bit her earlobe, she shivered and her ears turned red.

"Late for the party," she breathe out reminding me, I groaned and sniffed her hair before reluctantly letting go

We arrived at the party just in time, Mom and Dad were greeting the guests. Dahlia tugged at my shirt, pulling me towards the bar.

"F-friends," she pointed towards the bar, I directed my gaze at the bar where she pointed and sighted Lucas and the rest. When we got there, she left me for her friends who where drinking at the other side of the bar.

"Man of the year has arrived," Diego slurred slinging his arm around my shoulder. I glanced at him and frowned, the party haven't started yet and he was already drunk.

"The party is yet to start and you are drunk," I shot him a disgusted stare, "you are hopeless."

"I am not drunk," he said with a slur, his gaze diverted to where the ladies stood. His gaze hardened immediately.

"The fuck," he said and staggered towards them, "Yo! Get the fuck away from my girlfriend," Diego yelled at the bartender who had planted a kiss at the back of Thalia's hand.

"I am not your girlfriend, get that in your head jerk!" She glared at him. I tried unsuccessfully to hold the laughter threatening to burst from my mouth.

"Diego is just as whipped at you are," Lucas commented flatly behind me.

"Tsk, and you aren't?" He threw a glance at me and went back to his drink.

"When are you going to tell her about your feelings," I gestured at Lacy, she was laughing at Diego and Thalia bickerings.

"What feelings?" he asked blankly and ordered another glass of bourbon. A smirk appeared on my lips as I noticed something, or rather, someone.

"Keep denying it till she falls in love with another," I pat his shoulder and pointed with my thumb her. She was laughing at what Gregory Kings, the CEO of Kings Corp was saying, he too was smiling and holding her hand.

The expression on Lucas's face was priceless, to say he was angry is an understatement, he was literally puffing out smoke from his ears and nostrils, his face turned red in an instant and his grip tightened on the the glass leaving cracks.

"Excuse me," he slammed the glass on the counter and stomped away. I watched as he yelled at the guy dangerously and wheeled his protesting sweetheart away.

I heard a chuckle beside me. Dahlia had magically appeared beside me, she was watching them with amusement.

"Wonderful pair," she giggled watching a pale Gregory apologize repeatedly and scurry away from the scene, Lucas had a scowl on his face and Lacy was glaring at him.

"Yeah, just like us," I whispered the last part. I didn't know if she loved me like I do, I didn't want to make her uncomfortable.

                    ~★~

Matteo and Dahlia sat enjoying each other's company untill someone walk up to them, disrupting it.

"Matteo," a sweet voice called and well manicured fingers wrapped around his biceps, Matteo stiffened and slowly turned to face the owner.

"Willa?" He called in a surprised tone and she hugged him causing Dahlia to stiffen beside him.

"Fuck, it's been how long?"

"Five years," she replied sweetly not acknowledging the lady beside him, Matteo was caught off guard by her appearance to introduce her.

"Where have you been all this while?"

"Well, after Lana, I left for France. I came back as soon as I heard that her murderer have put behind bars, we were finally able to get justice for her," her voice cracked and a tear dropped from her left eye.

Matteo wiped the tear away smiling, that single action caused Dahlia's heart to tighten and she felt the corner of her eyes sting. A glint appeared in his eyes as if finally realizing something.

"Umm, Marissa meet Willa, Lana's friend. Willa meet Marissa..."

"His girlfriend," Dahlia blurted out interrupting him, a shadow crossed Willa's eyes while Matteo looked surprised.

"Nice to meet you, Maria," she  intentionally said the wrong name smiling so sweet one could die of diabetes.

"You too," she said forcing her throat to cooperate with her, this was not the time to fail her as she was facing a rival.

"And it's Marissa, not Maria," she corrected equally smiling almost as sweetly as her rival. Matteo who happened to be in their middle could feel the tension in the air.

As the word implies; sweet in the middle.

"Yo! Bro," luckily Diego came at the right time, disrupting whatever was going on.

"Yo..." The words faded from his mouth as his gaze came upon Willa.

"Do my eyes deceive me, isn't this Willa Willy Wonka," he teased, earning a growl from her.

"And if it isn't Doggy Dio," she smiled overly sweet in a sarcastic way making him grimace.
