Fame can have both positive and negative consequences. If not managed properly, it can lead to arrogance and damage relationships, making you believe that you are immune to criticism and causing you to lose sight of your true goals. This can result in you becoming no different from those who are solely driven by power and wealth, even if you despise them. Sometimes, experiencing setbacks or being humbled can be the only way to regain perspective.

An example of that is this idiot in front of you. Gilderoy Lockhart is a typical version of an attention-seeking manwhore. You feel like you should walk up to him and wring him around his fat neck because his very existence repulses you. You don't need magic to do the things that were too gruesome to be described.

Gilderoy Lockhart looked up and saw Ron. Then he spotted Harry and quickly stood up. "Harry Potter!!"

The crowd parted for them as they whispered excitedly among themselves. You stood behind them as you watched the scene play out. It disgusted you internally, making you want to puke your guts out as you watched Lockhart using Harry's fame to gain more traction and applause.

"Ladies and gentlemen!! What an extraordinary moment this is!! This is the perfect moment for me to make a little announcement I've been sitting on for some time!! When Harry here stepped into Flourish and Blotts today, he only wanted to buy my autobiography which I shall be happy to present to him now, free of charge. He had no idea that he would shortly be getting much, much more than my book, Magical Me. He and his schoolfellows will be getting the real Magical Me. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have great pleasure and pride that this September, I will be taking up the post of Defence against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!!" he declared loudly.

Your face turned pale in mortification. There is no way in hell are you going to have another dumb teacher this year. To be honest, you missed Professor Quirell because even though he stutters a lot in class, he taught you a lot of good things about magic, especially the unexpected Parseltongue magic called Parselmagic in his private lessons. It was a shame that he had suddenly left Hogwarts out of the blue.

The crowd cheered and clapped as you saw Harry staggering slightly with a pile of Gilderoy Lockhart's books. You decided to finally walk over to him and help him as you took some of the books from the pile to ease to load.

"It seems you need some help," you said, amused.

Harry looked up in surprise and for a brief moment, you could see a small blush on his cheeks before it quickly faded away. "(First Name)!! You're here?"

"Yeah, I came to buy some school supplies for the new year and then I saw so many people flooding from the entrance of Flourish and Blotts so I squeezed in to check out. That's where I found you" you replied as you gestured to the door where many people crowded around.

He grimaced when he saw a huge amount of people and nodded. "Yeah, well, I'm not comfortable with all this attention"

Before you could reply, a haughty voice spoke out, "Bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter?"

You turned around as you recognized the voice, revealing Draco Malfoy. You walked towards Ginny and put the books in your hands into her cauldron. You then walked back to Draco with a beaming smile.

"Draco, I haven't seen you over the summer. How have you been?" you grinned as you spread out your arms and lifted him off the ground to hug him.

Draco's face turned red and he tried to push you away. "Get off me! You're a Hawthorne, you shouldn't be acting like this!"

You playfully pouted in annoyance and put him down. "You're such a killjoy. Can't I say hi to my best friend?"

He sputtered and replied, "Y-Yes, you can but not in this way!!"
