Gears in place

The sound of the winds tried to defy me.

The turbines of the passing bullhead shouted with all their might, but my hands were more than enough to protect me.

Once it passed, I watched as Glynda took Rubi like a prisoner to be interrogated. Seeing that left me relieved and worried at the same time. On a hand, Rubi's life seems to be going like in the show. On the other hand, who was the one with Cinder this time?

"Just like you said" Roman commented, looking at the scene with little enthusiasm. "Can we go home now?"

"You guys can go ahead" I said, getting a message written in front of me.

"Where are you going? That's nothing to do!"

"First, I need to tell Junior and his men to go back since they aren't needed anymore. Then I will go after that bullhead to see where it went"

Neo stood up in front of me this time, blocking the path.

"It's too late for that! You need to rest!"

"Excuse me? Who is the oldest here?"

"Biologically, it's me" said Roman, tipping in his phone. "You have been working even more than me since you arrived, you should know it's not healthy."

"I know, that's why I would use the last ones to rest before we went to Beacon!"

Neo still would not move. I tried to pass her sometimes, but she would either jump or just appear there.

"Then start it today! Your clouds aren't that fast to be honest" he said with a frown, putting the phone back in his pocket. "I already informed Junior of the situation."

"Really? You guys should respect your elders!"

Roman laughed, hugging me with one arm over the shoulder.

"We are thankful for all you did to us, but that doesn't mean we'll let you get out with every little idea your head has. We know you the longest, remember? We know when to stop you and will!"

He was certainly convincing, but still annoying. For my joy, the sound of running and shouts came from the passages between the buildings around us.

A look was all we needed to see the cultist defeated by Rubi running away, taking the police by surprise while they escaped.

"Still think we are going to bed early?" I asked, receiving a grunt as an answer. "Thought so. Let's go!"

We went after them. None could escape but, as expected, none was willing to say where the bullhead went. Since interrogation was far from something I was good at, I let the others do it, but no one got an answer.

With the little time we had before the school, I accepted defeat and let the system take care of them, focusing our efforts for what would come in the next few days.

Time didn't stop, so neither could I.
