Red obscured my vision.

The first seconds of battle were enough for me to notice how dangerous those things were. Unlike the normal followers, these were creations of one of their elites.

To make things worse, one thing was clear to everyone.

"He can use aura like us!" Shouted Vernal, slicing an arm off.

"And they don't die!" Ilia added, seeing one headless corpse running after her friend. She managed to cut it in half, but the sides rejoined like nothing happened. "How can we win?"

"Find the controller!" I shouted, cleaning my blood from my face. "He has to be near!"

Once the battle went loose, I made everyone go more deep in the forest. Not even the teachers would have an easy fight against them because of how we used aura, so I decided to take the fight away from the school. However, my main objective was to also find the user who was controlling so many corpses.

"How can we do it with so many of them?" Flynt asked, having a hard time even with his own clones.

"We can't use barrier and field at the same time!" Neon shouted.

"I have an idea!" Jaune shouted.

"What ideia?" I asked, evading a claw and cutting the arm.

"Look how they have a harder time regenerating when Nora or Vent strike them?"

Looking back at the one I cutted, I noticed what he meant. Instead of a quick regeneration, it was as if the pieces couldn't find each other. Not only that, when together, it seems some rejection occurred before merging together.

"They must be controlled like in games!" He explained. "Since they have a great infusion, their weapon strikes are making an interference in the signal!"

"And how this gonna help find the leader?" Sky shouted, jumping away from his pursuer.

"I just need Nora for my plan!" He shouted. "I can't risk them hearing!"

"I think I got it!" I said, looking at him. "Go ahead!"

He nodded, calling for his friend. However, the new problem was making them get close of each other. The little he told was enough to put a target on his back and many of the puppets were converging to him.

"Make way and protect those two!" I ordered, jumping in and taking two of them.

Pyrrha, Vernal and Cardin were also taking two enemies, but even them had trouble with their strength.

Neo illusions weren't effective. Emerald's mind tricks became useless against those corpses. All we had was our skills, but it wasn't enough against things that didn't tire.

"Come on your uglies! You fight like kids!" Mercury tried provoking them, but those mindless beasts couldn't care less.

Looking back, I saw blonde and pink hair close enough. I smiled, seeing Jaune's aura flare and embrace Nora, making sparks color the air around them.

"Vent, look out!" Dove shouted.

I noticed my mistake late. Attacking on instinct, I managed to cut one puppet in half. However, the second one was too close. I was using armament the whole fight, letting a lot of aura like an armor around my torso and head while keeping enough in my staff. This made the impact non-fatal, but I was send flying on a tree.

Everything spinned. The world was a blur of shapeless colors. Sound came to me like I was using noise-canceling headphones. For once, I stopped feeling with my soul, hearing the screams of my body. Iron invaded my tastes and pain made it's presence know inside me.

For a minute, I forgot the trouble around and just wished the pain to stop. My mind slowly remember the trouble we're in. Focusing my aura in my head, I recovered enough to see a big pink light shake everything.

"What..." I asked, trying to see what it was.

"Vent!" I heard.

The first in my vision was Emerald. Worry inn her voice and face.

Behind her, the rest of my team appeared.

"Hang on!" Mercury said, taking me off the ground. Remembering me I was the smaller one. "I'll take him to Beacon. You two go with the other find the culprit."

"You sure?"

"I'm the faster here. It's his best chance!"

They looked at me, so I nodded. He was indeed the fastest, I trained him to be.

"Fine!" Emerald agreed, not liking, but putting her trust in him. "Don't let him die!"

"I know this much, Em" he said before running of.

One question kept repeating in my mind while we went back, but I couldn't ask because my situation. I didn't know how much time Mercury ran or when we found teachers in the way. Didn't even remember getting on the infirmary or the many times I woke up and fainted.

All that I know is that I wasn't alone. This and that questions were asked. Question that only I could answer.

In the end, everyone had to wait.

Wait for the time I needed to recover.
