Ruv sat in the passenger seat of the CUV, watching out the windshield as Yamanaga was carted into an ambulance and driven away. Shintaro and Kosuke were placed in the back of a police car, with Shin's eye bandaged up, and they too were taken away. Leon, sitting in the back seat with Taka, waved goodbye and laughed as the bad thugs were taken off to jail, no doubt. Sayaka, who was hiding under the dashboard initially, was earlier coaxed out of the car by Mondo, promising that the police would help her, and that she was in no trouble. Eventually, she did come out, and sat in the back of a police squad car as an officer questioned her. Finally, Marcie was taken out of the house by paramedics, followed closely by Mondo. They loaded her in a second ambulance, and Mondo gave a paramedic a phone number before they took off. The biker then took another long moment, speaking with an investigator. Ruv could occasionally read lips, but he didn't feel that he wanted to at the moment. After a while, Mondo handed the investigator what looked like his business card, the two shook hands, and then the biker turned to Sayaka. She stepped out of the squad car as he said something that made her feel rather assured, and she suddenly wrapped her arms around his waist. Mondo gave a quick pat on her back, and she let go and got back in the car, and the biker finally headed back to his teammates in the CUV.
Ruv: So how much trouble am I in?
Mondo: Not much! I managed to smooth things over with the cops. Said you were one of Yamanaga's victims in the past, and that ya went through a bit of a psychotic episode there. [The Russian lowered his head]
Ruv: How much... did you tell them?
Mondo: Only enough to convince 'em to let ya off the hook! Though gotta warn ya, they may call ya to follow up with some questions in about a day or two... [Ruv nodded]
Ruv: I suppose it couldn't be helped... Thank you for taking care of it.
Mondo: Anytime Ruvvy!
Leon: If you ask me, he shouldn't be in trouble at all!
Kiyotaka: [He put a hand on Leon's shoulder] It couldn't be help, Leon. I also agree, but this is the police's desicion, not ours.
Leon: Fine... [Mondo went to start the car, but Ruv cut him off suddenly]
Ruv: And what of Yamanaga? He's not... dead... is he? [The biker snickered]
Mondo: As horrible as it sounds... I kinda wish he was.
Kiyotaka: MONDO!!!!!
Mondo: Just sayin'! But paramedics said so long as he's managin' to breathe, he'll pull through... and when he does, first place he's goin' is behind bars. [Ruv crossed his arms, and gave a small but defiant smile]
Ruv: Good. [Mondo started the engine]
Mondo: Alright, let's get outta this trash heap, boys. Case closed.
Kiyotaka: Aren't we gonna call Marcie's mom and tell her we found her?
Mondo: I gave the medics Mrs. Gecko's number! They're gonna buzz her once they get Marcie to the hospital. We did our part.
Leon: Then let's celebrate! We should treat ourselves to a big meal! Like steak! Or pizza! Or something really, really expensive! [Mondo chuckled nervously, whilst turning the car around and driving back down the road]
Mondo: Yeah... About that... Mrs. Gecko wants to pay us on a plan, so y'know we ain't gonna strike it rich fer a while.
Ruv: Don't we have any extra cash on hand?
Mondo: Spent nearly all of it on that low-rate motel! Ninety bucks total... Not to mention we still have to fill the gas tank back up before we leave. [Ruv and Taka sighed]
